I'm just switched to using a laptop that I got from a mate and have just set up a wireless connection, all works fine until I shutdown the computer.when I restart it connects but then immediately disconnects. theres nowt wrong with the connection or the signal.
I pretty computer illiterate, but I'm thinking it's something to do with the admin settings.when I turn on the pc it comes up with a logon box with username admin, now I know the password so it gets me in.
so basically how do I stop it kicking me off wireless?
how can I get rid of this admin log on thingy?
cheers in advance

I dont think that has anything to do with the login? The BIOS!??

I'm not quite sure what your asking mr dawlish

Couple of questions to find out your answer :

1. What is your operating system?
2. How is the Wireless Setup? Via a Wireless Router or is it using ICS(Internet Connection Sharing) from the PC itself?

i am assuming it is the security password on boot up.
F2 on boot up into the bios settings
security and check to see if it is set to disabled if not alter and then press F10 to save and exit

if not then control panel
user settings
admin
change the way users log on/off

client services for netware has disabled the welcome screen and fast user switching.to restore hese features you must uninstall client services for netware.

Solution: (1) Go to (Start) (2) Then go to (Control Panel) (3) Search for (Network and Internet Connections) or (Network Connections) or (Dial-up Connections) (4) Then you should see two sticking monitor icon, named (Local Area Connection). Right click on it then choose (Properties) (5) Then when you are in the Local Area Connections Properties dialog box, click on the (Client services for Netware) and it will be highlighted, then only you'll click (uninstall) you can proceed to change your settings to the Fast User Switching option or the Welcome Screen option

Try re-creating the wireless profile. If your using windows xp. Double click the wireless icon near the clock, click on changed advanced settings bottom left corner.
Then click on middle tab wireless networks then in the prefered wireless networks box remove any profiles displayed, Probably just be your network there.
Once done click on the view wireless networks and tell it to connect to your network. It will ask for the key again if its security enabled, once connected restart and see if it connects. One final thing you could try if that doesnt work is because its usb it maybe shutting the power off to the port. Go to device manager and right click the usb wireless adaptor and choose properties. There sometimes a tab at the end that says power saving. Make sure there is no check mark in allow this device to turn off to save power.
