as we had already raised about £100 on the bunker it would have been nice if the club had contacted us first before swiping our idea and running with it themselves.

at the end of the day the poppy appeal will benefit anyway so im glad about that, but it does raise the problem of what we do with the £100 or so we have pledged already.

memo to pools who i know read this message board...we are quite approachable and would have been happy to run with you on this one rather than in direct competition.

mebbes they had already decided to do this which is why his shirt wasnt on ebay

the shirts went on ebay 2 days ago, we first raised the idea 7 days ago. and the clubs idea of selling raffle tickets for a quid before tha game and announcing the winner in the style of the match day lottery at half time is almost exactly what i first proposed.

this is what i posted over a week ago :

the auctioning of the poppy shirt to raise funds is very commendable. however this will be well out of my price range and i suspect the price range of almost everyone that goes to games as they are chucking in 2 match tickets and some hospitality.

perhaps the club could have raffled one of the shirts so that ordinary supporters stood a chance of getting their hands on one.

i then went on to suggest it could be run along the lines of the matchday lottery at a pound a go.

we have been fundraising on the board ever since.

to suggest the club who we know read this board on a daily basis have independently come up with exactly the same idea a week later is laughable.

at the end of the day, the money is going to an excellent cause so its a win-win situation, but it would have been a lot less hassle for us if they had come to us and said we really like your idea of raffling a shirt, we can see you have raised money already, can we pool our rescources and really make a go of this.

for instance im pretty certain dugout would have continued raising money from exiles and that mr cod would have sold tickets fro the club from the millhouse.

These link puts and end to who's idea it was and when it was first Thought of by the club Please note the date.

if so can you clarify how the clubs official website can claim sms subscribers heard the news of kevin kyles return first when it was on the mails website 2 days ago, and broadcast on national tv as well ?

i think that is pretty obvious, the mail got wind of it before it was official, the club announced it once the contracts had been signed.

It's fairly obvious when you think about it, it was agreed by the clubs and KK on Tuesday. Pools don't train on a Wednesday (most weeks I think, as often you've played on a Tuesday) so he's traveled up yesterday and signed on the dotted line when he's turned up for training this morning.

Pools could be better in this area, the official website is excellent in a lot of ways but we could certainly be kept more informed on such things. If everything is agreed in principle why let the press steal a march- tell us!!

Pools do it the right way, never commenting on anything until it is set in stone, if they had announced it on monday then things went tits up, we would be slating them left, right and centre

No and yes

No im not the official spokesman for the club never have been and never will be. Tree obviously I do a job for the club but i Dont ask anything so dont get told anything. You would have to ask the club about the other stuff or start another thread because I aint bothered about it really.

It was just this topic I was asking about nothing else. I aint got no gripe with anyone on here and as you can see dont post much but i felt that the information you were saying about the club stealing the idea was incorrect.

Nothing to do with working for the club or being a spokesman just my opinion.

I'll now slowing slip back into the background and wont say anything out of place again.

I dont like saying it but I cant see where the club is at fault here. Raffling shirts off is hardly a new concept and the club should wait till its official before annoucing anything. The club cant help it if stuff is leaked out from other sources.

I cant imagine what this place would be like if Pools sent texts out saying he had signed before he had and he ended up going elsewhere.

And as for being first with exclusives etc. Well they were first to announce he had 100% signed

Seriously?! You don't like saying that the club is not at fault. But you're a Hartlepool supporter right? I give up...

I think the PR sides and the club shop side of the club is a joke. Doesnt mean im any less of a supporter than anyone else.

But the clubs offical site can't announce stuff beofre it's confirmed can they? And PR wise they seem to be sending out more players in to the community than they ever have been from that i can see. The club shop can be improved no doubt, but surely most of the negatives are to do with stuff that happened years ago but not now?

As i've said before on here, i just don't get the attitude of 'slate the club if they do something wrong, ignore if they do something right' - i thought we are all on the same side?

If you have problems you could always write to the club and see what they come back with.
