should really have done better with goals two and three. They were both straight at him.

Teams really don't need many shots on targets these days to get anything and the lad really needs replacing

Surely this Cook lad can't be any worse? If he is then has Wilson bought another sh*t keeper?

Shhh your not allowed to point it out anymore because I used to say this ages ago and got nothing but abuse and instead of people saying I was proved right and they were wrong, they simply have to tell people to stop saying it to avoid embarassment.

There's an easy way around that, we create a team called British West Hartlepool United and you van criticise their keeper Darren Bee Parrot.

I'm not suggesting the first goal was his fault but watch it again it highlights why I don't think he's very good. He is unbelievably slow trying to rearrange his feet to get into a position to make the save, and his flopped dive as the ball goes over him as absolutely comical. Any shots that are above his head he hardly ever makes a save, think of those goals at Leeds and how often free kicks hit his bar or go in. He handling and kicking are quite sound but crucially for a goalkeeper he hardly ever makes any saves that you wouldn't class as routine for a goalkeeper, he hardly in fact makes any saves. It's a strange one because I actually think Budtz wouldn't be conceding as many goals at the moment because although at times in unorthodox fashion the cockfingered Dane is capable of some unbelievable saves. He is also more likely to be only five minutes away from an absolute howler.

I agree, we need the big dane back in goal. Barrat inspires no confidence in me whatsoever and it would be the first step in restoring the defence back to normality.

I honestly can't understand that. I think you must have forgotten something, Mr LT and PJ

Just seen the goals and I think we need a good goalie, how confusing is that!

I don't think I said it was that that was confusing.
I was confused about your implying that Budtz was the better goalie. Tho of course I respect (without resorting to sarcasm) your right to an opinion :coool:

Whoa whoa, I wasn't going that far!!

Neither of our goalkeepers are good enough, I was saying we that possibly might concede less with Budtz in nets. I don't think my ticker would be able to stand the site of him in goal for Pools again without the aide of a very large hip flask.

the sad part of this all is.....next season we'll get a decent keeper and get shot of these two but in the meanwhile we tread water in midtable this term. The down side is, by next term Pools will have meekly let Porter go and probably Monkhouse, and sold Brown - so we will be faced with the prospect of having to keep clean sheets next season to survive in League One because all our quality up front has left the club!!!
This season is a chance to do something, one or two key defensive signings and a new keeper - and ship out one or two squad players in January, and we really won't be far away from the top six.
I won't hold my breath

Bike for Barrett?

Possible replacements: Arnold Layne, David Gilmour...

Sorry, move on, nothing to see here. Careful with that Axe, Eugene....

If Budz wouldn't be conceding as many goals then that will do for me. Its common sense.

Get the big dane back in goal, cockfingers or not

PJ-Cracking post, have never agreed with anyone here as much as your post regarding ALB. He simply cannot get a hand anywhere near anything above his head.

You say Budtz would let in fewer goals but want Barrett to continue? Must be some logic there somewhere. sctatchinghead

If we dont want to concede every time the opposition hit the target then Budtz is the way forward.

... you're arguing whether to sail on the Titanic or the Marie Celeste...what say we give them both a wide berth and look for a new option.

sign another keeper

One problem, the people who brought these two in
would be the ones looking for the replacement. :uhoh: :uhoh:

Its quite obvious we have no funds available to sign one.

I pray to God thats the case and not that Wilson thinks they are good enough.
