agreed, that incident in the 2nd half where he had about 5 attempts to collect the ball and just kept failing was embarrassing

you dont remember savage blazing wide with the goal at his mercy in the first half ???

or the free header their centre forward put over the bar from 6 yards out in the second ?

I had forgot about the savage effort  rolfl  rolfl  rolfl

but as for the header, ALB had it covered anyway.

and yeah, i recalled the shot hitting the bar but it was a long way out and you could barely say it was a glaring miss or whatever. In truth Brighton created very little!

KK was awesome today until he got hurt, I didn't think he would continue as he didn't move for a few minsm after the knock he still played well but was quieter, he also did some decent defending.

I wouldn't say any of Brighton's chances where 'golden', i think their best chance was near then end when ALB made a decent save... The one off the bar was a snap shot, he did well to get the shot in at all i recall :uhoh:

Very very true!!!

The fact is that watching the bbc news etc it referes to credit problems in london more often than it does in the uk as a whole.

it still has a lot to do with Wilson why the crowds are down. He still has a lot to prove to a lot of people, and six games without a win already this season did nothing to allay peoples' fears - in fact these three wins have come just in the nick of time for him, and for keeping us away from the bottom four for now. He needs to keep picking the most influential players - people like Ben Clark, a player he has a propensity to drop. Looking back at last season - it was a crime against football that Clark was on the bench while that big plank Antwi played week after week. I'm amazed Clark didn't want away, after so long having his face rubbed in it, especially while Nelson was so awful as well. I'll never understand some of the things the manager did last season, a lot of folks feel the same way I'm sure. He's got it right with the attacking play, and everyone who joins in with the attacks keeps the ball moving and passing to a Pools shirt - it's good to watch and I applaud him for it because he's got us capable of outscoring other teams. However he made the rod for his own back last season, and people got frustrated at seeing a talented bunch of players getting beat off some teams whose players wouldn't get a game for Hartlepool.

the recession will probably last about 18 months. ive lived through them before and no doubt will again. its a good time to go against the flow and buy shiit. by next spring cars, houses, luxury items etc will be cheaper than they have been for a decade. thats good news for some of us. im spending my way through the credit crunch.

Ah right, well that's fantastic, there's me thinking that the world economy was reversing but now with this sage advice, probably my house will sell in the UK for more than what I bought it for in 1992 and with the Chinese economy still booming at 8% I'll break even by the time I die.

A number of points

1. Dont worry about me, I can manage. Unlike many in the conctruction industry at the moment.

2. I wasnt referring to foreign labour. But imported labour from the regions of Britain. Like the North East. So they are affected, and undoubtedly some will be pools fans.

3. How mant people do you actually know that have bought a house as an Investment, and not as a home. I dont know anyone of that ilk. I suspect its you that reads too much of the southern press.

4. Some people may put money away for the bad times. That doesnt mean they will spend that money on pools. More likely its their bills and mortgage.

5. Most people dont have savings. Not like they used to.

6. Saying people arent affected by the credit crunch just has to be the biggest pile of shite ever written. It may only affect 15% directly, but it affects a damned sight more indirectly.

and if you genuinely dont think it affects pools attendances then you are as mad as a hatter.

But of course you know better than that.

Thought you were one of them guessers? sctatchinghead

do you think people have stopped buying houses because they no longer need them ? they have stopped buying houses because of a lack of confidence in the housing market, and thats partly due to them being told in every media outlet that the world is about to end

You cant get ££££ like you could eight months ago and l think that is ONE of the factors in the down tern in the housing market.

Put a winning team on that pitch @ pools and the crowd will go up by 1,000 . Hard times or good times - Going to the game for some people is a chance to get away from life for a couple of hours and let rip..

why did gates under scott go from 5000+ to under 4000 and then back up again over 5000+ as soon as he was sacked

Because we played s++t football and we all hated him... Stevo was a poolie & tryed his best....

all im suggesting is that some fans wont go and watch their team if they dont like the manager or have little confidence in him.

Your right

Wilson has a long way to go to prove he can cut the musterd. Untill then, people wont go and thats a fact. He lost us the title away to Barnet, Rochdale & how good was the away/home support then...

Actually, they may both contribute to the drop in attendances. Wilson? ..as long as he keeps winning, he'll last, but the moment he hits another bad spell the knives will be on the grindstone, once a manager gets to that stage, he's just marking time.

come on kev u are better than that.

my house will sell for, my house is worth, property prices blah blah fooking blah, changing rooms, property ladder blah blah blah.

your house is somewhere you live, if you are dumb enough to think its a bombproof recession proof money making machine of an investment more fool you.

yes you will get less for it now than if you sold it last year. then again you can but somewhere else cheaper than you could last year.

for ten years house prices have risen way beyond the rate of inflation. now they are going down for a couple of years. and after that they will go back up again. its what happens.

what did you say you did for a living again ?

My house isn't somewhere I live. I'd hate the commuting for a start. I don't care what it sells for as long as it pays off the mortgage. That's where my profession comes in because it's a matter of red or black. But it isn't selling. No-ones is.

Some people like to move on when their jobs come to an end and they see an opportunity but the age of choice has gone and that's little to do with investments but a lot to do with the financial climate.

Do you really think you'll get a nice pension when you hit 65??

Think again.... rolfl rolfl

Approx 23% of the North Easy skilled construction workforce migrate south to work, mainly London and south east, and that is at a time when things where booming up here. Now that the bottom is dropping out of the housing many more will be trekking to other parts of the region/uk to find work
A percentage of these will be from Hartlepool and surrounding areas and some of them will be pools fans.

So it will have a bit of an effect on gates.

Apart from the housing market the thing that will really trash the economy is fear. Fear leads to a lack of confidence, and then to a lack of buying sh1t - and that fecks the whole deal. None of us need a new TV every 12 months, but in such a simplistic consumer market that we live, if we stop consuming, were fecked. I think we will go through a readjustment that will affect us all, but if we dont learn from it, learn to live within sensible aspirations and not buy into the sh1te that the media throw at us, we'll be fine.

If we do keep wanting state of the art cak when what we have works, if we let insane financial loonys invent products that allow them to effectively spreadbet all our money - ALL OUR MONEY - to oblivion, if we do keep shagging the planet then we will be in bother. But chill out a bit, stop being such greedy twats and we'll be fine.

Amen

I've had the same underpants on for 18 months. I'm getting the operation to remove them next week.
