Hiyah !!!

ALB 8 : Faultless. Even the one he juggled with was a brave save in the first place. His kicking was better than Kuipers' and his handling was excellent. And a clean sheet !!

Humphs 7 : Got done once when Ansinyah barged him off the ball. Other than that i thought he was very good. Even Fat Normo was sh*tting himself after I voted in his name in the MOM in the Lounge,so he must have been OK. Great in the air.

Collins 7 : Much much better. won most headers and went back to throwing himself into challenges like when he first came here. used his strength much more and as aresult looked a better player.

Nelson 7 : See above almost to the word. Won most headers and stopped trying to be Maldini.

Sweeney 7 : Steady away. More defensive in the second half, but in the first got forward well. Great engine and improving steadily at right back.

Monky 5 : Had one shot in the second half that nearly sneaked in, apart from that very off colour. Where's the Monky that used to take the piss out of defenders and score goals regularly ? With him firing, we'll look 20% better.

Jones 6 : Battled all game without really creating too much. Still an asset in the team as he's always available and wins more than his fair share in the tackle.

Clark 8 : A revelation in there. Rarely wastes a ball and wins tackles. Got us ticking over in the way Liddle used to. Very impressive.

Brown 6 : Another quiet one stuck out wide. Looked worth a couple of million in the first half and stuck a great cross on Kyle's napper but missed a couple of chances, which is most unlike him.

Porter 8 : Superb and going from strength to strength. Deserved a goal for his tireless running and link up play. Sign him up sharpish on a five year deal, whatever it costs.

Kyle 8 : Excellent again. If I win the Lottery, he's ours. Narky, confident and impressive in open play. Passing was superb and gaining in confidence so much that he tried some things that didn't come off. Creates space for other players and wins 99% of headers. Credit to Wilson for signing him. Some great defensive headers too.

SUBS

Liddle 7 : Did his bit to contribute to three valuable points.

VERDICT

Fook me, a clean sheet (just). A deserved win on the balance of play, but only scoring one in the first half was always going to present us with problems in the second half. The back four looked more cohesive and ALB looked confident. Going forward we jusy lacked the spark of the last few games, but we battled well and need to kick on in the next couple of games against dross.

A special mention for Robbie Savage. If he's an international player on 25k a week, i've missed the boat. Sheer, unadulterated SHYTE.

if Savage could play premier football, fu-ck-ing hell there must be 40 million people who must be thinking how the fu-ck did I not manage that?

Well done Pools.
I fu-cking hate Brighton.
Just for the record in case anyone didn't know it.

ALB and 8??????? You weirdo!

He made no difficult saves and cocked up big style with the juggling incident.

Jones was terrible!!! His worst game so far

I also thought that Jones played quite well today, I think that having Clark next to him has given him that bit more confidence to play his more natural game.

It looked to me that Liddle was told to push inside once he came on because he went and had a word with Sweeney as soon as he was on the field

jones our worst player sctatchinghead sctatchinghead

he got less than liddle who barely touched the ball. in fact i thought sweeney was horribly exposed when lids came on for brown.

i thought jones was very good today. certainly one of our better players. he won no end of loose ball and ran has absolute nuts off.

as for giving alb an 8 ???????

he never had a shot to save. sctatchinghead sctatchinghead

Have to say I though Jones was shite today! failed to control many passes, missed an absolute sitter too. Not one of his better games although liddle was no better when he come on.

jones does a lot of the unseen work in midfield. in conditions like todays we needed someone who would hussle and harry and put his foot in.

jones did that. he might not be spraying 50 yard ball about but that would have been pointless in the wind. okay he may done better with the chance he had, but the kid went box to box today.

the game was won today in the middle of the park thanks to jones and clark. they won the midfield battle to the extent that savage had to be taken off.

to suggest jones made a significantly lesser contribution than a keeper who had little to do is patently absurd imho.

Agreed that Clark was outstanding like, did much better than Jones imo

Between Porter, Kyle and Clark for MOM today. All 3 contributed equally in their respective roles.

Agreed about ALB, but Jones was a waste of space.

I was going to post my ratings but this says it all for me... I totally agree clappp

Brighton were shocking for 70mins like, we should have won by 2 or 3 at least. The defence looked a unit for once and along with ALB did well to keep them out in the last 20mins.
Monkhouse was the only disappointment for me and with Robson playing well he wants to buck his ideas up.
