But my youngun has a PS3. He has just got Fifa09.

When he tries to play his mates over the net, when he has been invited by them, he cant get connected.......or rather he cant select a team or start the match.

I have no fookin idea what the problem is........anyone know owt?

It's a widespread issue that they're working on, I have no problems connecting to most people but there's one lad from work I can never get a connection with. It gets to the team select screen then freezes.

Sadly he'll just have to wait till EA get their arses in gear and sort it out

could be your router, are you using one? if so you may need to use DMZ option in the router settings! i had same problem with certain games on my xbox 360 and this fixed the lot, make sure you know what you are doing and only set it for the ps3 ip address otherwise you could be prone to people trying to get into your machine i believe

Yes I do use a router. But I have no idea what the DMZ is. Wwhat do you mean, by changing the settings and how do I do it?

Actually where do I find the router settings? :uhoh:

My router only has an on/off button I think.

Maybe only the posh ones have "settings"?

Hope that helps.

you need to go to the router settings and add the ps3's ip into the dmz list. Usually you go to the address 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1

password is generally admin (should be in the book you got with the router)

then you can go to the setup menu and add the ip for the ps3 to the dmz list (the ps3 ip is usually an offshoot from your routers ip i.e. 192.168.1.3)

have a look on google, there's loads of step by step guides

Linksys. Thats all I can tell you.

But I cant find any files on the PC for it.

There won't be any, simply go to http://192.168.1.1 in internet explorer on your PC

The username is either blank or "admin" and the default password is "admin".

Once you're in there you can add your ps3 to the DMZ, guide is here (its for PS2 but same priciples apply):
