"New Grimsby boss Mike Newell has sacked striker Martin Butler because the 350-mile round-trip from his Worcester home meant he missed too many training sessions. (Daily Mirror) "

Never one to follow the rule book is our Zippy!!

Unfair dismissal anybody?

[edit]

He hasn't been sacked, he's had his contract paid up, but check out zippy's quote

"If you've got a high opinion of yourself you'd think you could work around the situation and maybe get the best out of him," he added.

"I'm not one of those with a big ego and I don't think I'd have had any more joy than the last manager [Alan Buckley] had with that situation.

Talking of which. he was on the Foodball League Podcast last week with Mark Clemitt. He didn't say anything of great interest, but what was interesting was hearing the Norwich Chairman talking, Roger Mumby? Apparently he spends some time after every away game outside the gates, talking to the Norwich fans, thanking them for their support etc. And goes and meets some of them before home games as well. Are you watching KH?!
