...around 8 home games without conceding?

I remember Spike and Westie in there, was it a back 3?

04/05 season under Cooper from mid December through to about mid January we conceded a single away goal - at Torquay where we came from behind to win 2-1.
The back line was Dimi, Ross, Robertson, Westwood and Nelson.
We went to places like Barnsley and Bristol City and shut them out!!!!
A far cry from today's team's capabilities!!!!!
We'll be very lucky to keep it down to three this Saturday.

Never knew Vindheim was involved in that run. Cant have been as bad as I remember then? We got shot didnt we?

Am really thinking a back 3 is the way forward. Clark is too good to be left out. We dont have full backs but the ones who play there are more midfielders so could suit them playing wing backs.

ALB
...............Nelson Collins Clark...............
Sweeney Jones Liddle Monkhouse Humps
..............Porter Brown...............

I know people will say we dont wanna be changing things around but something has to be done. Maybe we wouldnt score as many but if we only conceding 1 a game instead of 3 then could be worth it.

It was probs the most perfectly balanced back 5 we've ever had, or that i've seen at pools.

But sometimes it just doesn't work out, robertson got injured, ross couldnt get out of the way of that big thumb on his head etc etc

a lot of people are heartily sick of seeing us concede a minimum of two goals away from home - now is the time to make ourselves harder to play through and around. We might not make as many chances, but the odds of winning or drawing are greatly increased if you only concede maybe one goal.

in other words, I agree completely with five across the back at somewhere like Leicester, with the full backs operating as wing backs when required to get forward!!!!

we have to do something to stem the goals flow though.

Tree's team makes a lot of sense to me. I'd have gone for that weeks ago, especially away from home...
