We weathered the storm though Leicester, Beckford wasn't much use tonight, his shots went over the bar.

Even though Leeds had clearer attacks in the second half, there was no real tempo to this game.

It was a bit of a sickener conceding so late yet again and I still think it was a cross rather than shot. It has to be said though, Leeds deserved their win. We didn't create a lot and our defending was rubbish.

My thoughts exactly. We gifted them two goals. I think playing Porter upfront on his own wasnt the best idea either. Most annoying thing for me though was not making any changes with 10/15 mins to go. Porter was dead out there by the last ten, he move at all. The goal came down our left. Not saying if we would have had a fresh robson on it may have been prevented but he would have least have tracked back for it. Joel was stood watching on the half way line. That isnt a swipe at Joel in any means, he was just too tired to move anymore and should have been subbed for fresh legs.

Porters goal was fantastic, for those who didnt make it!

The full back 5 worry me!! I'd only have Collins in there, the amount of crosses leeds put in from the wings was shocking.

RB: New signing - we don't have anyone who can play there
LB: Ideally a new signing of possibly Liddle. Get Humphreys the fuck out of that defence.
Centre backs: First choice - Clark & Collins. But, is Nelson is make too many mistakes by himself or is he getting dragged out because of our inept full backs?

Liddle can play left or right back, left back yeah, he'll do the job good but without some cash getting spent we are always going to concede

Overall, we weren't the better team. Porter's goal was an absolute screamer but aside from that it was pretty standard fare. I thought we'd probably go through to extra time but I went through with a reasonable Leeds-supporting friend of mine and he made a pretty strong case for them.

Their shooting was atrocious at times, but they had the better share of chances. I agree to a certain extent with Mr I although a lot of their stuff was again on the break, and I don't think we have the pace.

We sat on the backfoot pretty much throughout the second half, as per. Still enjoyed the game though!

ALB is crap - end of - if he doesn't have a decent game soon I'd throw Jan Budtz back in.....

With regards the whole game, McCunnie was repeatedly raped for the whole night. Fair enough their left winger Robinson is a good player, but it proved again that we need a pair of full backs. Liddle at right back and Humphreys in midfield with a new signing at left back and I reckon we'd be a much better team.

All things being equal they deserved to win, although a home-crowd, big-club ref didn't help us at all.

At least we didn't have to suffer baby David embarrassing us in front of a lot of people.

Humphreys shouldnt be in the team. We NEED new full-backs and there's no way id play him in left midfield instead of Monkhouse... Im sick to death of sentiments, yes, he's been an excellent servant to the club but its time to move on.

humphreys has been poor for a long time. You want him to play centre midfield but he can't take people on, his passing has been poor for a long time and he certainly can't shoot well anymore....Oh yeh and he can't tackle....he should be benched and used as a sub. Might make him play better like when he was loaned to Port Vale

Humprehys is worse in midfield than at left back imo.

Once a left back comes in, theres no place for him. The team is too fucking slow as it is without him being in the middl eof the park.

Who the fuck plays full back (both sides) for the youths/reserves?? Surely they must be worth a go?

I am Humphreys fan but one day (and I actually don't think it's just yet) mother nature will catch up him. Where will we find a suitable replacement from?

We haven't had a left back that can run as fast and do the things as good as you want him for over a decade.

Elliot was terrible.
Brackstone dived in and had timing issues.
Roberton was slow but he could taking a great free kick.
Robson was lost and couldn't tackle but had pace.
Robinson lost his way and lacked confidence like Robson.

And we can go on and on and on. Humphreys is the best all round left back we've had in this decade.

Nobody wants to join Hartlepool and good left backs are like gold dust as the majority of players are right footed. They go to teams like Leeds. 3 of the 5 other left backs we've used have come through our youth team and the best we can hope for is that we produce a good quality left back ourselves that have improved on the previous prototypes.

Replacing him is easier said than done. Although Liddle may be able to do a job there.

Why has this thread turned into Humphreys bashing when for the third game in a row McCunnie was absolutely diabolical. He got skinned like he wasn't there time and time again and even started bottling tackles. Right back is a worse problem than left back at the moment, Humphreys does a job he's going to get skinned sometimes as he isn't a full back but least he is committed, McCunnie last night was like playing with ten men. People were running straight through him unopposed.

I also thought ALB could have done better for both the second half goals. He's slow on his feet for me, the winner almost went past him near post if you watch it again it sailed over him almost and surely he should have got something on the looping Beckford effort that slowly clipped the bar for Showumni to tap in?

Full backs and keeper are a major issue and we won't win many away until it's sorted.

Not looking for a scapegoat - if the players play well I say so - if you think that ALB is playing well then enjoy life in cloud cuckoo land.....
