My car windscreen has a crack about an inch long from the top of the windscreen with 2 smaller cracks running off it. It is not in range of the wipers but wondering what the cost might be to get it repaired and also if it will fail its mot on it.

Most insurance policies have windscreen cover but you will probably have to pay an excess of £50 - £60. If it’s repairable this would usually be free but this tends to be for chips rather than cracks.
It should not fail the MOT if it is outside of the windscreen wiper area.

Ring Autoglass.

No matter how small it is, it could suddenly crack and shatter your whole window at any time. Not worth leaving it as you dont want that to happen and then have to buy a whole new windscreen. Cost of repair is usually covered by insurance.

Sorry mate but its shagged. Chips and stonechips can be repaired but not cracks bigger than about a 10p. Its a replacement and yes the insurance will cover it subject to your policy and excess.

Ring your insurers. They usually have a designated company for windscreen work.
As has been said: chip repairs are covered free; cracks require a full replacement but with no penalty on your no-claims and usually with a reduced excess.
If it's a laminated windscreen you're OK driving sensibly but it's best to avoid extreme driving!
