I have lost my sound on a few sites such as youtube and a couple more but i can still listen to music that i have already downloaded sctatchinghead

Does anyone no what the problem might be

check you system settings go to - START - RUN - type in the box DXDIAG - go to the sound tab and check everything is OK in there. May not fix your problem but work a look

Start at the basics, check that the volume control on the you tube screen isn't turned off. Also double click on the speaker icon there are a number of volume controls in there for different sound outputs.

Are the sites you cant hear sound on similiar to youtube ?? if so its possible flash player is messed up
Youtube, dailymotion etc use flash to display video content.

As Bernard says, It could be the Flash Player thats corrupted in terms of playing back the sound... Download the latest at : http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/ Install that and give it a try!
