Whilst everyone is still raving about Tuesday's performance and rightly so, some are now deeming it as a worthless cup and maybe so, seeing as we are more likely not to go all the way (although dreaming of young Foley scoring in every round and notching the winner in the final would be "over the moon" stuff). Let's try and progress as far as we can taking another scalp in the 3rd round etc, but surely Wilson this year should go all out for Johnstone's Paint Trophy Glory a competition that Pools can realistically win! A paint pot in Pools' trophy cabinet (we have got one haven't we?) in our centenary year would be the caking on the icing!

As long as we call it the Worthless Cup, our truly historic giant-killing on Tuesday night will be worthless. As far as I'm concerned, it's silverware, it's a trip to Wembley and UEFA Cup qualification at the end of it, so let's enjoy it and have a Cup run like the FA Cup under Cooper.

Why not bid to go as far as we can in both, extra revenue for the club and a great confidence booster for the players, cups are an ideal opportunity for the team to excel themelves and test themselves against higher opposition should the occasion present itself.

all you pessimists go and watch the borer or one of the other so called big 3 and the supporters who enjoy being at pools whatever the occasion will continue to support the lads,.

preferrably on of the top ten premier sides in round 3 home or away to create a bit of revenue fo the mighty blue and whites.

I'lll bet you a shiny penny we won't win League One either. The aim is to finish as high up the league table as possible, and to progress as far through ALL cups as possible. I swear there are Pools fans who would rather finish 10th than finish 14th and win the JPT stpid

I'm sure Bristol Rovers fans will still be talking about the last couple of seasons in years to come: FA Cup quarter finals, JPT runners-up, AND a promotion through the playoffs. Why should we, as fans, not want to do something like that?

Well said that man. clappp

The Paint Cup is the one we must try and improve on, as people have said it's the one we have (had) the most chance of winning.
