August 20, 2008

FORMER Pools favourite could be just weeks away from re-joining the club.
Hartlepool United are one of a trio of clubs leading the chase for the former promotion hero.

Tommy Miller would be better. Pools are chronically light in midfield.

Ah but he's not a promotion hero is he.

Tommy Widdrington instead then.

Signing Dimi would propel us several places than if we kept ALB in goal.

Of the 3 goals we've conceded so far, I dare say Dimi would have stopped 2, possibly all of them.

Come on Tax you cant blame ALB for the penalty against Colchester, a penalty save is always a bonus. I not sure Dimi would have saved Tranmere's goal on Saturday. So I have Dimi saving 1 out 3.

I am not blaming ALB for any of them.

He got a hand to the penalty. Dimi saved much harder penalties than that in the promotion season.

Saturdays goal was a bit soft for me and I think an excellent keeper would have saved it. Dimi is an excellent keeper.

They are a different class of keeper IMO

I agree different class of keeper altogether, but your original post read between the lines as if ALB was at fault for at least 2 of the goals conceded.

Not at all, I don't blame him for anything so far. If we want to seriously push for the play-offs though we need a better keeper.

I can only imagine it being Dimi. My initial thought was Boydy (if rumours are true regarding Barker leaving) but just a quick check on Wikipedia and Boydy left before promotion season!!1

Not before the 2002/3 promotion season he didn't.
He didn't play much of a part in that like. We didn't need to use him 'cos we had Hendo.

I thought we couldn't afford another keeper which is why Soutar wasn't offered a contract. sctatchinghead
I would expect Dimis wages to be more than we would have offered Soutar. Maybe we've had a big bid for Budtz. confised

which has been out for about 3 weeks.

who would you rather have dimi or soutar ????

its a no brainer, and i havent even seen soutar play.

we need a keeper, dimi is nearly fit, he is available, he wants to play for pools, the fans want him back. wheres the problem ?

His signing on fee?
His wages?

If he signs for us this season I will give you a postal order to the value of £3.82
