Donaldson has now agreed terms with Crewe, he should sign tomorrow.

So they have Zola, Elding and Donaldson. Those three must have cost a fair wedge in transfer fees and I would guess at something like 20% of the clubs playing staff budget in terms of wages.

However I still think Porter and Brown are at least as good as any combination of those three.

I'm surprised Crewe have done it this way though, it's not exactly the Crewe way, after all those years of Dario bringing kids through, they now seem to be going to same way as every other club who thinks throwing money at strikers is the key to success.

they are on the slippery slope to doing a Rotherham, Luton or Bournemouth at this rate. They are obviously banking on not just improving on last season, but getting promoted back to the championship this season.
Unfortunately for them it doesn't look like it's going to work.
All those players are big and powerful, which seems to me like they won't play a smaller nippy striker. Could be wrong, but on the face of it they've gone for physical presence up front

They do have the 2.5million of nicky maynard money to play with, which they wont have banked on, wont have accounted for, so it's money to play with really.

Don't worry. He'll cause them their fair share of lost points.
