I hope Antwi plays centre half. We'll get at least three with Brown and Porter up front!!!
Even if he's right back, Monkhouse will torture him!!!

It makes you wonder if Liverpool put a clause in their loan contracts that says the player must get x amount of playing time in the first team. It would explain why Wilson continued to play him last season when he was woeful.

The loan deal between Liverpool and Pools was that if he played Liverpool paid his wages, if he didn't play we did. Hence more appearances than common sense or his ability would ever allow.

I presume Tranmere have fallen victim to the same deal.

The lad will never be a pro in any division in England I reckon. His frightened rabbit eys when the ball was coming at him in the air, his refusal to come forward and head a ball rather than let it bounce and give the attacker a chance are a big part of the reason why Budtz is broken.

I thought earlier on at the beginning of last season that Jan looked promising. His confidence was destroyed by the Nelson and Antwi clown show in front of him - to the point that I think we all know that Budtz will never recover at Pools. He needs a move and a fresh start.

As soon as Antwi comes to the end of his contract and he no longer has the kudos of 'he's from Liverpool, you know' and he's judged on ability only he will struggle to get a contract anywhere, I reckon.

I think he's better than some of those thuggish Centre Halves in League Two, I reckon he'll do a good job in League 2, Was really surprised to see he ended up at Tranmere, Because he is not good enough for this level at all! I do think he'd do a job in League 2, Hence him shining for Accrington the season before he joined us

But ones things for sure... He'll never be in Liverpools starting XI, Or maybe he might judging by there woeful performance on Wednesday night

Do the christening on the cheap... a B&Q bucket (99p) of rainwater (free)and say three hail mary's (also free). Tell the freeloaders to bring their own booze and food and you will still have money for tomorrow.

So now it's Antwi's fault Budtz is shite?! give it a rest man! He's no world beater but incase you hadn't noticed the full defence was a horror show last season, including "Sir Richie Humphreys our greatest ever player and knight of the realm"

The lad started well enough then got moved to right back, made a couple of errors due to inexperience then everyone gets on his back. The number of goals we leaked because of Nelson dallying on the ball or Humphreys going on 50 yard forays into the oppositions half would eclipse Antwi's error count. It seems certain players at pools are untouchable.

Anyway, back to the post you made...

Antwi's fault Budtz is shite - Did Antwi play for Donny too cause their fans hardly have Budtz in their memory as the next Gordon Banks!

What's next? Antwi causes Russian invasion of Georgia, Antwi prices first time buyers out of the property market?! rolfl

so its ok for people to blame the goalkeeper for the defences lack of confidence but not the other way around?

its somewhere in between. both budtz and antwi were, in my opinion, the main cause for the poor defense last season. both are no better than league 2. you can see how much more stable we are now.
