I got thrown out of the scouts - using their three strikes and youre out rule.
I never told my mam until about 30. She was fuming. She'd been going into the fishmongers owned by the scout master for 20 years or whatever, telling him what I was up to, now knowing that he had kicked me out.

They wouldn't let me join the Cubs so I had to go to the Brownies instead - I was a pixie.

I was a member of both the Beavers and the Cubs based on the Fens. I was a 6er and captain of our 5-a-side team. I also left when it started becoming more serious, I'd rather have been playing football on Fens field with my mates than mucking about in a school hall.

Back in the day i tried to join the scouts. cubs. Boys brigade. and sea cadets and was refused because i was a catholic.
The cubs and boys brigade were held at jessie road proddie school and the scouts was St George troop also proddie maybe that was why..

I went to Brownies. Loved it.

Our lass runs two brownie packs. She has done that for the last twelve years.
