By now I am really fooking sick of computers. Really fooking shit. My last computer was made from duff parts so I got a completley brand new one from PC World, I've got the warranty/recepit somewhere.

I've barely used this one apart from...to check for Hartlepool news, go on here and do bits and bats.

Now all of a sudden today when I boot up I get a flashing dash which never fooks off.

I have to load my computer up directly from the master drive for it to work, I've no other drives or anything plugged in apart from monitor, mouse and keyboard.

I have Windows vista.

Any suggestions? Thanks for your help, I know I'm a bit of a pain.

Take it back. Tell them that they're all a pack of bastads and that if they don't replace it AND give you your money back you'll come back and put bombs under their cars.

You dont have any luck do ya fella  ?

Not quite sure what you mean by "Flashing Dash"? The Screen Flickers?

I'd take it back to PC World especially if its still under warranty, See if they can fix it for ya

A dash as in this which never goes.

I managed to boot it directly from the drive by pressing esc and choosing the hard-drive.

Then explorer wouldn't load without me promting it to.

I've barely used the computer (only to go on here mostly). I've downloaded in total...one video file. That's how little I've used it.

I've got maximum virus/spyware/adward/security protection settings etc.

I used the recovery option that comes with the comp and this reformatted my drive and reinstalled vista.

All is working ok after that, I've got 10 months left on the warrantly. I will see how it goes for the next month and if I have the slighest of problems, I'll take it back.

I was wondering what you meant by the flashing dash too.

It's stuck in a loop trying to run something by the look of it. looks like a job for your recovery discs to me.

Alternatively do a step by step boot up [F8] and establish what the problem item is.

Don't think its the porn, your computer can only take so much shite passing through it before it conks out. I would strongly advise staying away from Darlows official 'world' site, especially the video re runs of past defeats..

Mr Gaunt, it might have had sugar rush from all those soft drinks that you're pouring into it. Apparently, sugar free Red Bull gives you sticky blood too, but just drink fresh orange juice. Johnny will help you buy the carton version made from concentrate....

By the way, can I congratulate you on the lack of roaching and pornographic material in your room, you are a credit to your generation. clappp clappp clappp
