It is indeed the lawyers that persist in making the defendant manipulate the facts to form a 'defence.' But never forget that the biggest single cost in a trial is the bleedin' judge who can pontificate for donkeys in order to expand his massive fee, whilst employing a small boy under the bench to service his every need. He's the geezer who decides what lngth of trial is needed and then they obliging and expensively fill it. Most of the time is spend arguing about how they are going to do what they.

Over here, you get arrested Monday, tried Wednesday ('cos they need a day at least to give you a fookin' good kicking so you 'confess') and they shoot you Wednesday night. You're transplant by Friday!!

Now that's justice!! :grin:

In fairness Mr Fireball, most of the legal fund comes from fines, and you are extremely light at 500 snodgers ((c)Mutley) an hour for a barrister, it's probably 1200 snodgers plus another 180 snodgers for the solicitor and 90 quid for the junior who fetches the tea.

You could argue that fines are public reparation, and so indeed it is the geezer in the street wot pays like and that would be a most valid argument.

Anyone remember the bloke convicted of raping and stabbing the girl in in Croydon last year? Despite his DNA being all over the girl, the guy claimed that he was walking down the street and simply found her already dead. The girl had been stabbed dozens of times and yet he admitted to having sex with her. The twat put her family through hell.

Totally different scenario but another total joke to allow him a trial. That's democracy for you :shock:

The general 'rule of thumb' is that your solicitor will get you a lesser sentence for admitting you were wrong and are willing to take the raps for your actions, she lied and got 3 months more. Being honest helps simple as!

I think six years is fair enough, as had been said they'd have got far leaner sentences had the daft cow owned up, how the fook was she ever going to get off? She drove him to Durham train station the night he 'died' and was pictured grinning like a chesire cat with the bloke and an estate agent in Panama.

Her sons, and all her and his family had to grieve the 'loss' of a loved one. That is a fairly serious crime in my book.
