Abortion....What Do You Think????

Abortion should only be used in extreme cases in my book....Medical reasons and in cases of rape!!!! :evil:

People who use Abortion as a form of Contraception....(some people do!!!! :evil:

)....should be steralised!!!! :evil:

And the upper limit for Abortion should be brought down to 18/20 weeks at least!!!! :evil:

There has been more Abortions/Murders in Britain since the 1960's than the number of Jews Exterminated/Murdered during WWII!!!! :evil:

My only thoughts on the subject are that you can't force a woman to have a baby she doesn't want. We can't have them, and as a result can never know what it is like to go through the nine months of pregnancy.

Like that poor little barstard who starved to death in a pub a couple of weeks ago, or the two year old who was locked in a kitchen whilst it's mother went on the piss.

Playing devils advocate here but why abort a child in cases of rape? A life is a life surely, just because the father is a total bounder. Lets face it, there are millions of other fathers that are bounders but we don't abort their children. Just a thought.

problem is WE are never going to be in a position to decide what we feel as we are never ever going to be pregnant, whatever category of sex it takes place under.

personally i think that people should have the democratic choice to decide and whilst some class it as murder/taking a life/whatever at the very early stages it is indeed little more than a fusion of cells.

Awkward subject.... personally, I couldn't do it, I find it odd that one baby because it's premature at 24 weeks has all the technology of modern medicine on its side to give it a chance while another exactly the same is being cut up in situ because it's inconvenient.

slightly away from the main point but aren't women who drink & smoke and eat fast food whilst pregnant doing serious harm to their babies?

it may not be abortion but its nearly as bad.

plus on the abortion side of it, the foetus's aren't, strictly speak, alive so therefore its not murder. each to their own is my view.

And I think the main point of the thread was to criticise the type who drop their pants on the first night and don't think about the consequences or care to take any precaution. There is nothing wrong with casual sex but if you are to partake in such activities on a regular basis then really it should be done responsibly.

Without pretending to know whether abortion is right or wrong in those circumstances, can I just say in answer to that that you can give children all the social education you like, lead by example, etc., but I don't believe any parent can control what their child does 100% of the time.

When PC was pregnant with all 3 of our lads people always asked if we wanted a boy or a girl. Our answer was always the same, we don't care which, as long as they are born healthy, which luckily they are. I don't know if I could have coped with having to make any decision about the health of our kids prenatal. But as a practising Catholic, and definite anti abortionist PC would have had the final say, and she wouldn't have contemplated anything other than to go full term, and live with the consequences.
