Does anyone have any recommendation re Hartlepool Estate Agents. I need to sell my house and dont know whether to choose Manners, Whitegates, Robinsons etc?

None of the above, try www.housenetwork.co.uk and sell it online for far less. Their internet presence is far superior to many estate agents, worth a go for what it costs.

I concur.

When we moved a couple of years ago we used Robinsons, primarily because we made them all bid against each other and they offered us the best deal. They did a canny job, couple of little issues but not enough to put me off using them.

The house we bought was through Manners, they seemed canny too.

Whitegates is a strange one cos it seemed to be dying on its arse til relatively recently when somebody else took it over, now you see their boards everywhere. Dunno how good or bad they are though.

I would recommend steering clear of Dowens though.

And when you're getting the legal stuff done I'd give Smith & Graham and Tilly, Bailey & Irvine a very wide berth too even though they might offer low fees as they do that by getting non-qualifieds to do it and you get what you pay for.

Dont use Whitegates.....

Our house been on the market for 4 months now and not one phone call from whitegates, not even a call to say we have'nt forgot about you and how about reducing the price while we are on.

anyway took the sign down waiting for the no sale no fee to expire then I'll gladly tell them to come for the bloody sign.

thanks for the advice fellas. I think I may try that online site. The only problem is that you need a HIPS pack doing which adds £300 ono the fee.

Wouldn't leaving the sign up be one way that they would actually ring you?
