I've waited until now, to say what I still believed at the time he scored those goals - Daly is a one-week wonder. He showed no signs of being a capable goalscorer for the best part of two years and he's now back to his usual self. Porter is unhappy and doesn't want to be here, looking at his general play this season. The others are all far too inexperienced, except for Eiffion Williams who can't perform at Football League level any longer. That leaves ....errrr..........no strikers worthy of the name by my calculations. Is it eight goals in thirteen league games apart from that one-off three game winning streak? If Grimsby had scored that shot which hit the post and put us two-nil down, and if Peterborough had gotten an equaliser when there was still fifteen minutes left (let's face it it almost happened), then we would be in serious trouble right now and with very, very little confidence in the squad. I am of the opinion that Wilson hasn't got enough of a mean streak to manage at this level, and doesn't know who or what he needs to sort it out. Paul Sturrock would get us promoted THIS season, I fully believe that. I would break the bank to get him in now,and I think good quality lower league players would sign for Pools if he was manager whereas they might not for Wilson.

I hate to be the one to break this to you but on 1st November, 2005 we were only TWO points off the play-offs.
The rest is history!

Dimi has done nothing this season to suggest to me he is even a half decent goalie. The amount of goals we have conceded considering how many chances we have given teams is an embarrassment and he is 100% to blame in my opinion

surely Tommy Miller would come here on loan like a shot if given the chance....and so would Boydy (as mentioned by Mr Fireball).

No joke....he says he needs FIT players not players to get Fit for other teams!!!! confised confised

I'm sure Boydy won't be unfit....(He went on as a sub last night in the 64?th minute)....and training with Championship Forwards would have only benefited him!!!!

But IOR will want money for those players and no teams are going to be prepared to spend money on them as they've all underperformed since the Cardiff season.

Probably not, but you can hardly blame IOR wanting to reclaim some of the money they have invested in this bunch of useless cloggers.

spoke to adams dad on the way back from lincoln and he seemed to think that boyd would come back on loan tomorrow.

wilson has dissed the suggestion stating it would be going back to square one. what exactly does this mean? if square one is having a player score 29 goals in a season when we made the play off finals a division higher that cant be a bad thing.

surely boyd would be fit enough to play at this level ( he cant be any less fit than boland and porter) and would be better than bas savage and ali gibb?

Maybe it is code for saying that he intends to work with the young forwards that we have..? Signing Boyd on loan would surely only be a short term soloution because if he starts banging them in surely Luton would just recall him and we're hardly likely to sign him are we?

On reading the article it certainly seems to suggest that we are going to make do for the moment when reading between the lines. I'm not saying that I agree with those sentiments because as you say our young strikers are somewhat unprovern and the experienced attackers are far from clinical at the moment. But there is no point in just signing anyone who is available like what Scotty did last season, I'd love to see a fit Boydy come back but it doesn't seem likely by the sound of things.....

I would like to see Foley get a chance up front in Porters absence, I've been impressed with him for a long time now and I don't buy into the 'he's too small' rubbish', hopefully he will produce the goods.....

i would play that young lad micky rae from the youth and reserves - looks a right nasty little get and he always gets a goal - the bench on saturday Danny - he is more mobile than Wilson, stockier than Brown, taller than Foley and being from the town would be a bit keener on £250 a week than those on three times as much.....
