Has anyone used Mega bus before? I'm going to London next month, the prices are cheap as chips as it would cost me £14.50 for a return journey which is excellent value. Just wondered if they were reliable....?

Ps - I heard that Royal taxi's would charge me the same price if I wanted to visit my next door neighbour and i live in a semi......

its stagecoach under its other name and when i have passed the buses on the motorway or at woodhall services they are fairly new national express type and only stop a couple of times on the way
the easyjet of the coach travel
book early and get it cheap

Thanks for the info - if they are reliable then you can't go wrong with 14 quid to get to London and back - I've booked up....

Recently got the megabus when we travelled from Bristol to London for a Tindersticks gig. Obviously took longer than a train would have but it was reliable and comfortable (as coaches go).

my missus used it quite a lot when she lived in scotland it was only £1 to newcastle

How the hell does the company make any money with the prices being so cheap?

I'll get on for a pound - are you allowed to drink beer? And is there a toilet?

You'd have to pay them for them to make any profit. I only presume they're coining it in from their inner town/city services to subsidise this.

I know Go North east do, it costs £2.70 return from my house to Dalton park or Seaham Harbour which is less than a mile away.

the shorter the distance the higher the cost
in hartlepool 1 stop will cost you 80p. from asda to wilkos is a £
from asda to mountbatten close the first stop on the central is £1.10. from the town centre its £1.30 to mountbatten if you carry on to the brunswick/victoria arms its £1.30 and £1.45 to middlegate

what a lot of people are now doing is buying the dayrider tickets @ £2.75 and passing them round so if mam goes to town and back during the day and then the kids are out and about on the night they all use the same ticket same with the megariders they share them

Its done in inner and outer regions in hull, £ from inner to inner places and £1.30 inner to outer and vice versa. or £3 for a day ticket. EYMS are actually a decent bus provider. Tend to kill a few people like, but thats why you keep out of the bus lanes!!!!! especially if your not riding or driving!!!

will u be changing your name from no6bus soon seen as though your company want to cancel there service after 6pm?

If they do that i will be well and truly screwed, i use that number 6 every night, whether it be off to pools, gym, over town, friends, wifes, pick up or drop off youngun, everything!

Can't afford taxi's and i pay too much out every month to be afford to drive.

Bad move stagecoach
