henry smiths school field the spiritual home of hartlepool rovers
that wasnt the historic match against the barbarians was it
gremlinn can be seen in the bottom left hand corner selling programmes :shock:

the centenary game against the Baa Baas was at the new Friarage in 1979 - we all got off school to watch it (obviously because it was Henry's)but also because Johnny Dee was playing.

the strange thing about that pic is the HEUGH BATTERY is there so the pic must be from after the war so it looked a well attended game

difficult to date as i have one showing the stand on the left side of the pitch dated 1937
the light house that was moved into the battrey after the bombardment
shirts slightly differant could be a derby game with west or even a county game
also the cars in the car park look to be about 1920s
