.... actually seen in real life happened to me ... I was driving down Church Street last Saturday Afternoon and saw a ...'Sandwich board man'..... his boards had a load of God bothering stuff written on both sides, it was surreal. I thought they only existed in comedy films and cartoons

I've not seen any in Hartlepool, but there is a guy in Newcastle who stands at Grey's Monument with the sandwich-board pretty much everyday...

Under and around the big screen without fail on a saturday afternoon 2 oldish folk start reciting from the bible, they just get ignored, not quite sure what they gain from this behaviour. I think they may have a screw loose!

You can't beat this bloke for me - not a sandwich board but if you've ever been to Oxford Street in central London, chances are you'll have seen him with his megaphone shouting, "Be a winner not a sinner":

I once saw him getting a serious kicking on the escalator at Kings Cross tube but he kept on with his "Be a winner not a sinner" bit. Quality.

As you're one of our older posters, Mr S, surely you and Gremlin must have seen the Mail's sandwich board man? He used to walk up and down Church Street "wearing" and shouting out the headlines of the day.
