According to a report in the MAIL, dresses can't get here for this years prom season because of the erthquake in China...there's reports of 'stunned mums'...'added insult to injury' .....'heartbroken'....' the kids were crying. It was absolute chaos'.....' it's a big day for the girls, they have been completely let down'.... Now that's people talking about dresses remember, not the victims of the earthquake. Why don't they try putting themselves in the place of the victims and their families and get their priorities in order.

What's the girls' original injury, if them not getting their dresses is the insult?

And being let down implies there's someone else to blame... is that someone Mother Nature?

Some people don't have a fucking clue.

I must say though, I did find one set of photos pretty funny from the earthquake, mainly because they detracted from the other awful events of the week. It was of a wedding procession standing outside the church they were to be wed in, but things (as you know) took a turn for the worse:

I never knew there were churches in China. How did they get past Mao then?

I thought that too. Maybe they're as militaristic with their listed buildings as we are.

I love the photos because
a) it's the worst thing to happen on your wedding day
b) it's the only thing you'd think could never happen on your wedding day
c) the face on the bride is priceless (especially the other pictures in the press - girl goes towards church, masonry falls, she looks at the camera looking pissed off).

It's like a tragic sitcom. They all survived too, which is amazingly lucky - if anything, it was the photographs that saved their lives. Not to detract from the devastation or anything, which was awful (obviously), but the pictures are amazing.

it seems that the more material objects folks have, their concept of what life's priorities are....... seem to fade into the background.
I also think British teenage girls are, on the whole, a rather objectionable bunch to me.
