It's a queer old world. We saw last season how the team could really turn it on in some games. One player could make all the difference if it's someone who gets us organised in the second quarter of the field and stops the goals against rot.
If Lee Barrat continues his improvement (unless we get someone better), that will also save us another 6-7 goals compared with last season.
And not having to worry about leaking goals in away games will allow our attack, which does so well at home, to prosper away as well.

So it's a provisional top 6 for me assuming we haven't finished recruiting yet.

At the moment we are no where near the top 6. There are too many ? over certain poistions. on the plus side the younger players like Brown and Liddle will have more of idea of what is expected of them and will hopefully flurish.

At the moment I've gone for 'Just Avoid Relegation'!!!! confised

we'll just stay up. There's plenty of sides who are as much of a muchness as us, including I think Scunthorpe. Also Cheltenham, Hereford, Walsall, Swindon, Orient, Northampton, Stockport and Yeovil - there's a good chance most of those will finish beneath us. If we can't get above four of that lot at least, every single player plus everyone who works in the management team want fucking with a ten pound hammer.

There is going to be another hard season ahead Leeds.Carisle.Leicester.Colchester and Brighton are my hot picks for the season so making the play - offs will be a great achievement.

Why Colchester? What have they done to get better than Scunthorpe? Just curious.

Watched Colchester a few times on the box and they were always unlucky to get beat or end up drawing and dropping down a league will give them a good edge..

Dont kid yourselves, whats changed from last season when we were playing that awful football and fortunate we had a good start? Wilson cant take us any further and it seems like most have forgot and forgave him for last season. I predict bottom 6 sadx

Nothing, seeing as the season finished a month ago and doesn't kick off for another six weeks. I'm sorry but I can't be pessimistic about a season when we don't even know what the starting XI is going to be.

As for 'we were fortunate we had a good start'. Bollox. We had a good start because we played well and deserved our position. If you're going to criticise Wilson for all his cock ups, you have to applaud him for his positives and there were plenty in the first couple of months.

MadJohn - yeah your right about ignoring the good stuff, but doesnt it seem like a long time ago that anything to get really excited about happened? Tranmere in December maybe? and then what happened next game with the team selection?

and yeah they did Elvis, but whats that got to do with me? sctatchinghead

Since we're on about good starts and bad finishes, would everyone agree that our "good start" ended sometime between Sunday 11th November, when we beat Gainsborough 6-0, and Tuesday 13th November, when Morecambe dumped us out of the JPT?

If we'd continued as we'd started we'd have ended on something like 65 points - not enough for the season to end any differently but enough to leave us optimistic.

So my next question is, what changed between 11/11 and 13/11? Did we run out of good fortune or is there a more rational explanation?

If you want a satisfactory reason why he's leaving, with that level of 'loyalty', lets just say he's leaving, we're satified.

no matter how frustrated I get with Pools, I always want them to do the best they can and play to their capabilities.
What I would NEVER do is desert them for another club.
That is shit - no explanation needed other than to say, "What a fuc-king RARF."

Are Hull doing well like?? sctatchinghead sctatchinghead sctatchinghead

Last time I was there they needed penalties to beat us.  The time before that they needed a contentious penalty which Jimmy Provett saved and missed the rebound. confised confised

Also the best fan baiting by this MINGING Poolie bird who got her spotty tattoo'ed tits out and was ejected for insulting behaviour.

I used to wonder how tits could be insulting but after that experience I understood. bbolt And I was stood behind and well to one side of her......

If Pools folded tomorrow...I'd find something else to do..... I COULD NOT SUPPORT ANOTHER TEAM!
As for the 'deserter'...as I've said before a mere pick n mix' consumer of football, hardly a supporter as we know it.

If Pools disappeared I'd change sports, simple as.
Worramean is I already follow different teams in other sports so they would then get my focus.

I said back in January that we'd probably survive as long as the management took my advice and I'm glad to say they did and we did survive. Obviously although they are the post-holders they seek my advice and when things get difficult and they don't play my favourite players then I will return to my early season predictions and find some small fact that I wrote and then repeat it ad nauseum until the lads turn the corner and I will quickly return to my earlier pronouncements which are so wide that even if we get relegated, promoted or do bugger all will have some little fact in there that I can regurgitate over and over again, 'cos it's simple right? If I can't afford to go, they'll fail, even though they have lost the vast majority of the games I have seen................... sctatchinghead sctatchinghead sctatchinghead

Sorry everyone, I think I got possessed there for a moment......
