 Post subject: How the fixture list is compiled?

Has everyone seen the article on the official site? It's opened my eyes I always thought it was done more like this;

Image

I look forward to our trip to Yeovil between Christmas and New Year then some derby action at home to Southend or someone else as ridiculously far away on New Years Day.

The Shearer picture, the robbing bastards giving us season tickets for £140 cheaper than last season, now this patronisation of the highest order. Sack them all.

Seen it; read it; found it fascinating.
Obviously the guys are on a hiding to nothing and plenty of less-than-ideal fixtures will slip through.
But Pools do have ten days to object to silly fixture dates. They should make sure they use them well.

True, it's difficult especially when our nearest rivals are about 100 miles away! I suppose ours in the leagues eyes are easier to sort than most no teams close enough to effect police resources ect and no derbies!

A very interesting read. I don't envy anybody doing that job. All of the people all of the time comes to mind.

It's definitely synchronised, even between leagues - the home and away fixtures for us vs. Forest were the same as Darlo with the mighty Dag and Red. We've been especially lucky with home ties on Boxing Day though, I hope it continues this year

Every single year, without fail, some goon on a message board claims to know the fixtures before they're published.

And it's always bollox.

If we are at home to Peterborough on the first day of the season it is purely down to chance as it is as likely as any other fixture on the opening day.

Well, when I say as likely as any other fixture, it has a hell load of a chance more of happening than us playing darlow even though we were told about 10 months ago that they'd already secured the title...
