Went down last night for tea, VERY nice! Top-Notch grub, reasonable prices BUT....only 7 people in the whole place.

F**king minging in there the time I went. Service was awful, slow, little choice on menu. That was 18 months ago but can't say I'd be back in a hurry.

They had a decent "Specials" board up, I don't even think I looked at the Menu after seeing the magic words "Rump Steak"! Really was nice like, nice decor/set up too.

Me and the bairn were out for a bike ride a couple of weeks ago along the front and we popped in for a drink, I was very impressed with the look of the place. Might give it a try, especially after your recommendation of Cinnamons EAD which was spot on.

The spinach pakora to start was the best Indian starter I've had.

It doesn't help when you get the Councillor for the area on the front of the paper telling all about how bad the bar is for fighting etc which is complete bullshit. Are these Councilors supposed to support the area including local businesses?

Councillors need to keep their mouths shut in instances like that. It's people's livelihoods on the line when "public" people they spout off when they feel like it. I'd have demended a public retraction, or else come up with the proof. Otherwise there'd be a summons for libel, slander or both dropping on his floor through the letterbox. Not my business so I don't know how the bloke will react, but it's what I'd do.

It seems some people wanted these 3 buildings to fail from the moment they we're constructed.

Why anyone would want a business in there own town to fail is beyond me, it creates jobs, a service for the public, revenue into the town and another option for people to enjoy there free time.

Anybody been to King Cod yet?

I'm thinking of trying it out but don't know anybody who has been.

remember these are people who get paid from the public funds - it makes no difference to them if a business fails because they get paid next month regardless. Hartlepool council does not help local business, and some of the resentment from councillors and certain townsfolk towards some businesses is shocking. The aloof stance the council has towards the very people who basically keep this country going (i.e. the businesses) is disgusting. I have my own very bitter experience of this - in fact the Council and the Valuation Office between them, forced us out of our business because of their grossly unreasonable attitude and financial demands. Even the brewery cut its rent demands to one third of the original amount, but the business rates killed us. They take NO account of other legitimate business expenditure to be taken into consideration - they are a bunch of c-u-n-t-s. The calculations are wrong, full stop.

I once had a local councillor on the phone while I was on the way to the airport for a holiday. I ranted at him right from the M62/M6 Junction to Liverpool Airport. He eventually hung up on me.

It's not that hard, no one gives them brains, only power. stpid stpid stpid
