Would we take him on a free be. I know he didnt impress when on loan but to be fair to SPike he hadnt played a first team game in 12 months and was thrown in at the deep end.

i personally would even if it is just for back up. He cant be worse that the GOD

Wouldn't he be fourth choice though behind Clark, Collins and Nelson plus if two of them were to be unavailable for some reason we have Liddle who can slot in there for a few games if need be

Good in theory.

But Clark and Collins didn't have a good injury record between them last season. And Nelson was woeful for the most part.

And if we're signing midfielders then who's to say that DW doesn't see Liddle as the answer to a full back problem?

We seem to have fettled our problem at CB in a "minus one player" kind of way.
I don't see any point paying an extra wage to have Spike back, popular as he is.
I'd rather spend it on a new midfielder; we're a bit short of them.

I would, Collins can also play left back and Spike can play right back, as can Ben. It'd be quite formidable really, also releases Humps to the left and McCunnie to central midfield. Worth thinking about like, he's no slouch at set pieces either. Imagine him, Collins and Nelse running at you??

I'm quietly laughing here at the way we expect loyalty from players yet don't think twice about getting rid of loyal players (Eifion, Strachan, Robertson to name but three) when it suits us.

Rumour was that we had a deal from Southampton on the table for £650k and he stalled on it to go for fook all, big signing on fee and £XXXXXX per month. Apparently

By 'we' to you me 'we' or the board and manager at HUFC, because I had very little say in the above players contract renewals

Spike didn't do anything wrong, if he had I doubt that Hodcroft would have entertained him back on loan last season. Footballers generally try to better themselves and who can blame them.
If the club reckon Spike would be an asset to the squad then they will pursue an interest and rightly so. I personally don't think they will, but if they did I would welcome him. We have to do what is best for the club, and Spike has to do what is best for himself and his family.

All of them!
Perhaps I should have said "the board don't think twice about getting rid of loyal players and we, the plebs, don't lose any sleep either."
How's that grab you?
