Just been playing a few songs of his on you-tube

Did any of you lot ever go to watch him live, i went years ago and was blown away by how good he was.

What a show he put on

His widow lives very near to me, and organises Northern Soul nights which me and our lass sometimes go to. Apparently he was a thoroughly nice gadgie.

i watched him years ago at the Redcar jazz club as it was then and on the way home the car he was in flagged us down
asked if we could show them the way to Hartlepool we escorted them to that place behind "23" taxis i think it was called Foxys then and we blagged our way in by carrying equipment for the band
a freebie thanks to Mr Starr

Im sure i seen him in the Gemini or some nightclub in the town years ago, he came on did a few songs and that was it. I still didnt know who he was :grin:

Did sound for him at Butlins Bognor in about 1988 on of these retro weekends. He was top of the bill and the Troggs were second. It was a quality line up after about 6.30pm. No tribute acts, all originals. He was an easy man to work with unlike some, all his musicians were also very polite and appreciative if you did the smallest thing for them.
