..anyone who can "chip" Sky boxes? Or can this not be done?
After getting screwed by sky when we were in the pub, I would really enjoy free viewing at their expense.

sky boxes will never be able to be chipped, the encryption which sky use is virtually impossible to crack, best bet is for a digibox, you would still be getting one over sky as cable providers have to pay sky for the use of sky sports and fillums etc, as for the battery trick i dont think that works anymore, not with the new boxes anyway

you need either a virgin phone line or broadband and then the signal is taken from the cable and feeds the starview or eurovox or whatever box you go for
it is a piece of piss to set up
and you get every channel for nowt

DO NOT try the 9 volt battery carry on.
You plug the phone cable into a empty phone socket connected to a 9 volt battery & hey presto you get your pay per view fillum, but if you ever plug your sky box into your phone again Sky will receive all the info on what youve watched & bill you for it.
Every now & then Sky decide to send out new viewing cards & the old ones expire,to activate your new card you must plug your box into the phone socket so you will end up paying for anything you watch using the 9v battery.
