Its also great to see Nexus has kept its legendary status by letting in the scum of the earth..... quality!
Thing is, people wonder when the town is dead on a weekend!!!! Its becasue the town is ridden with scum bags with no job or real life who are intent on making people hurt like they are hurting inside with lack of brain stimutlation! Fooking vvankers!

But it's the same everywhere nowadays unfortunately.

Yep, Hartlepool more so than others. When I go back to Hartlepool to visit family I see more and more bag heads and scum..... Im growing to dislike the place, its not great, its boring, its chav central & seeminly no-one has a job!

I know Hull isnt much better, but for Gods sake its got a whole lot more qualities than that God forsaken place i used to call 'home'. Sad really.

I blame Asia, Australia & Germany. Its their fault! rage

It is NOT, N.O.T. the same as everywhere.

Hartlepool is full of this scum element.

2 Saturdays ago I went out with friends in Jesmond, Newcastle. We drank a LOT, were well bladdered, but there was not ONE incident or even a HINT at trouble or chew.

Hartlepool must be vying for the roughest town in the country, that the only reason I can think of at the minute...

This town is too small and it has too many bars for the size of it.

Everyone knows everyone, and is related to everyone.

I used to be a bit of a lad over town, but i quickly learnt you can't as you've probably took home your ex girlfriends cousin or summit!

And eventually almost everything becomes 'Hartlepooled', turns shite, becomes rough as feck

When the Lighthouse first opened, it may not of been everyones cuppa, but it was OK, quite well done out, now I wouldn't go there if it was the last bar on earth, how long before the Marina ends up that way?

Too many 'bars', too much cheap beer, stupid opening hours and too many arseholes who if they want a scrap, can't to it without a glass or bottle in their hands

How are we on the map - are we on the national news?

It's fucking shite on a night out in Hartlepool, I never go past Victoria Road in the rare event I do go out, the town's full of tossers. The women are the worst. Then again, I was in Hull this weekend and saw a bar-clearing brawl in Hockneys between Brits and Poles

Well since my time in Hull ive never seen a fight and i go out every weekend.....

Not even new town where the 'ruff' folk go...... you must be going to the place where pricks congregate!!!!!
You must have been pretty close if you knew it was Brits & Poles!!!! Was it not your fighting with the Polish shop's shutters and mutters obseneties under your breath??

And yes, you might find 2 stabbing & a glass in the face in one night puts a place on the map for the wrong reasons.

I never go out in Hartlepool now, not because of the roughness, it's just a bit shiit.

Saying this, i'd much rather go out in Hartlepool than south London these days bbolt

I generally go to the local in Seaham now, if I go for a night out it's Sunderland

It is though, its bad crack like. Not quite in the top 20 worst places like, but neither is Hull. Maybe now Hull has a Premiership football team and 2 super league rugby teams channel 4's 'EXPERTS' will take a closer look at Hull rather than driving into Brandsholme Estate and leaving! Hartlepool is worse than Hull, it pains me to say it like, but it really is!!!! banghead sadx

I think the number of bars in Hartlepool actually stop the town centre from becoming an all out warzone on a saturday night. The young ones and older posers stay up the top end and older crowd and the younger chavs/chores stay down the bottom end. Imagine there was only 4 or 5 bars, there'd be even more on hell on than there is now.

I don't think you can compare Jesmond to Hartlepool either like - I've lived in Jesmond for the past two years and the people who frequent the pubs along there are students, professionals and the occasional stag do. I've never seen a fight there and I wouldn't expect to. A fair comparison would be the Bigg Market, which is far worse than Hartlepool in my opinion.

I couldnt give a flying fook to be fair. The city is tidying its act up and bloody quickly too. Although, i wouldnt touch Orchard Park in the dark, the rest is ok. East Hull is 'rough' but not that bad where you fear for your life! unlike rift house and seaton lane.

I reckon Hull and Hartlepool are very very similar.

Nice spots and not so nice spots. Most large towns and cities are similar.

well thats going to be true seen as though this 2001 census says;

Hull population - 253,400
Hartlepool Population - 98,000

So, there is likely to be more crime in hull with it being twice the size of Hartletown........

i found a statistic about hull from 2005 - 69 crimes per day....

Hartlepool doesnt do crime - is overlooked by people with rose tinted glasses!

Nah, one lot were shouting in a foreign language and one was wearing a Polska t-shirt and a red and white flagged cap. The British lot were pure Hull scum though. If you're out on Princes Rd and town then you probably won't see anything, but you're having a laugh if you think Hull's not violent and has its fights. Beverley Rd's on fire at some point on a weekend, I lived off of it near the Dorchester and sirens would be in their dozens on a Friday and Saturday.

To be fair to Hull though, in three years there I only saw two fights, but I was attacked twice, saw a couple of thefts and had my house broken in to. Hull's much worse, but that's only if you take into account the likes of Bransholme and Orchard Park.

Hartlepool and Hull are VERY similar though. Both off the beaten track, you only go there if you need to (and rarely do if you're not native), has a nice marina and an okay town centre, loads of bars and full of scum.

No, it's overlooked by the police, which is a different matter. Most crime figures will be largely made up of traffic offences, which is not the kind of crime we're on about, is it? Or are Hulls roads safer than ours too? sctatchinghead

Total Number of Offences.

Hartlepool
Population 90,000
Apr-Jun 2005 - 3158 - 28.4%
Jul-Sep 2005 - 2904
Oct-Dec 2005 - 2810
Jan-Mar 2006 - 2769

Hull
Population 250,000
Apr-Jun 2005 - 12423 - 31%
Jul-Sep 2005 - 12809
Oct-Dec 2005 - 12533
Jan-Mar 2006 - 12020

Not a massive ratio difference really is there!!!

Harrogate, Knaresborough

Hartlepool has no decent shops for a starter, few decent hotels, transport links are cack...

You don't rate a town by hotels and shops, do you?
I think Harrogate and Knaresborough are terminally dull have an intolerable lack of subterraneanisms. I'd rather live in Hull any day

Thats your decision, but they aren't filled to the rafts whit shitehawks, bagheads, skagmiesters, broken glass, dogshite, rubbish strewn everywhere, I like Hartlepool because my family and friends live there and Hartlepool United, I can take or leave the rest of it
