On the decline today quite dramatically too. As of 11am market was -1.4p which in fuel is a lot!!! Down 1.02p yesterday. This is nothing to do with the truck fest yesterday in London Town!

I bet the effect takes longer to reach the forecourts than increases do though.

Always the case isnt it, they take longer to drag down prices seen as though they make more profit and people still buy it so why put it back down when the margin for profit is larger.

Pack of tvvats the lot of them

They can't afford to do it unless...................... we pull out of Iraw and Afghanistan immediately.

The cost of war is incredible. You are paying something like 3p in the pound of your earnings to support the current conflicts.

The fuel thing is getting close to breaking point, something's got to give.

I didn't see any coverage of yesterdays protests, but I think we are all too nicey nicey in this country. It's a bit harder for us being 300 miles from the capital, but why don't we all just get in our cars/vans/lorries and drive into the centre of London and bring the place to a standstill?

By the way, the truck drivers yesterday don't give a shit about you and me, they were campaigning for an 'essential user rebate' or in other words, haulage companies. 20p per litre they want.

Exactly.

They'll get no support from me if they are just looking out for themselves.

Some great points there.

The church is possibly the biggest community in the world though.

Someone on here said not so long ago, its not just what we're doing to the o-zone layer its also whats going on on the other side of it by the sun.

The government are getting millions by the day with the tax and its a very very easy income although its not a sustainable income, it wont be there forever as we know, there is not enough oil under ground forever!

Next month the Haulage companies & farmers are arranging a blockade of refinery's and stations again. This time a full standstill is the aim.

If they do that then I hope that the angry mob form and burn their lorries and tractors out.

Tons of countries have adjustable taxes where the country will say, this year petrol is 'x' price a litre. If oil is at $70 dollars a barrel, we make some tax, if it's at $130 a barrel we lose out.

Gordon Brown is such a leeching greedy bounder that he's just put a percentage on the price, same as most things. If it's $70 a barrel he makes a bit, if it's $130, he makes a fookin packet, which he instantly uses to shut hospitals down and line up 23% pay rises for his acolytes.

He makes Brinks Mat look like shoplifting.

The thing that worries me is that when the Tories get in (not if, I just can't see it any more, to a certain extent I'm not bothered minus that bounder they call David Cameron), they'll change it (probably). Suppose they do, how much income will be lost from petrol and, furthermore, where will they make it up from?

12 Bn on an NHS computer programme that hasn't beeped yet.

8 Bn on a DWP computer programme that hasn't beeped yet.

8 Bn on a HMRS computer programme that, yep guess what?? You've guessed...

6 Bn on a Prison Service and Probation Service Computer ............aha, same old story......

If they'd only stop throwing money at EDS, who couldn't deliver a decent fart, we'd all be 700 quid a year better off. For the last ten years.

Don't even get me started on PFI schemes..........  Or the Defra lot.... rage rage

EDS, couldn't find their collective arses with both hands and their heads facing the opposite way....

I worked on a project to upgrade the HMRC to Windows XP

Monday, leave house at 5:30 to drive to Edinburgh, paid the minute I leave the house till I leave site, plus mileage, get to set, Rollout called off

Change town and repeat at least five times per month on a four month contract, x's 45 contractors = £££££££££££££££££££ down the plug hole

You still work for EDS Talbot Avenger?

I run a team on one of their private accounts and it's well run from the top down (especially my bit  ), there are issues with other accounts mind, and often some of these have been in the public eye which doesn't help the perception. What I will say though is that problems are often with the client and not just with EDS, especially time issues where projects are worked on and requirements change, often after systems have gone live. All it looks like is that EDS have gone over time and over budget when in fact (and is often the case with the government) circumstances have changed and systems need to be adapted to suit.

The HP deal looks to be going through which will be one of the biggest IT takeovers in history, if EDS was that bad then would it be worth it?
