I didn't realise how shit the Town End was until mid-way through the season. No singing any more, people standing in stunned silence, struggling to sing for a minute after a goal (if we scored).

I know a lot of it is to do with us doing well (or not this season), but I haven't heard more than 50 people singing in there in months. And all the songs are shit (Darlo-orientated). Me and the usual crowd who sing in each game had to shift along to the ex-Order types just to get some noise.

As one of them shouted, "is this the Town End or the Clown End?!".

The day a drum starts to be banged at the Vic is the day I stop going. I can't think of anything more irritating than the noise of a drum being hit by somebody who hasn't a clue what they're doing. rage

Not including you in that Salty.

Instruments at matches are more than just irritating if the owner is sitting/standing right behind you. I got a bit murderous one match where an infant supporter was blowing a trumpet in me ear from start to finish.

Where is Salty by the way?

We COULD always try and nominate a match as Bunker Singing Saturday or whatever.

Get everybody into The Town End and deliberately create an atmosphere for a change?

I know myself, Smythe and a few others did a good job at Boston a few years ago, with a 70's Set List and a few pints of ale prior.

How about it?

Sounds good to me.... "We've got Willy Willy Willy Willy Waddle on the wing on the wing, we've got Willy Willy Willy Willy Waddle on the wing on the wing... Willy Willy Waddle Willy Waddle on the wiiiiiiiiiing! Willy Willy Waddle Willy Waddle on the wing!

I'd be well up for it. Maybe it'd also interest the club in making moves to get people involved.

Oh, and no drums, it smacks of desperation confised

I say do it to a home match, it's be brilliant! Everyone has a flat cap somewhere...

Reminds me of the third or fourth Monkey Business where there's about 100 people in shot all wearing ties, except one, with a big arrow pointing at him saying "YOU MAN! WHERE'S YOUR TIE?!"

Totally agree on the drum point, drums at football are wank.

Also agree that the Town End is shit, we jumped ship last season to the Cyril Knowles last season and I can't see us going back, you can drink far more when you are in CK for start the bar nearest the Town End was almost our own at times when the crowds were down last season. Here's to indifferent form

agreed. a great idea.

But why stop at one game?

It would be more than a bit good, to have a permanant bunker section in the Town end.

Are you advocating a clique stand in Victoria Park? rolfl

Oddly enough I was in a pub yesterday with an Andy Capp cartoon on the wall and I was explaining where he came from.
Er ... this was in France which is where I am at the moment!
