..H.P. sauce and thought it tasted different to normal. I read the contents of the bottle as I was eating, as you do, to discover it's now made in Spain  ...any recommended brown sauces that's made in this country?

Although its not a dollopy sauce but has the same flavour, Henderson's Yorkshire Relish is good stuff. It kicks the arse out of Worcester Sauce.

I suppose you could add cornflour to it to thicken it up. Sort of a reverse of what they do to brown sauce in Edinburgh - they add vinegar to it to make it go further.

I'm sure the factory where they made Chop (in Scunthorpe maybe?) burned down a few years ago, which meant there was no Chop for a couple of years. Bottles were apparently becoming quite valuable.

It may not be Chop, but I can't be bothered googling it.

Granovita is good and is made in politically correct Northamptonshire.

I'll bring you a bottle over at the next match.

However, it does come with the warning, 'Contains mustard.' sctatchinghead

Chop is the best. Yes you can still get it. Last time I saw it was in Asda.
