the Italians' antics at pretending to have been floored by head butts etc were chronically embarrassing - they got what they deserved!! If ever there was an underdog-style British team then it's Rangers, in the style of Villa and Forest all those years ago. Defeating the odds against "superior" players. There's a large foreign contingent there but they play in the best spirit of the British game - no diving, pretending to be half dead etc, the Italians were despicable tonight and good old fashioned guts won through. ManUtd etc can go and get fucked, but I was very pleased for Rangers tonight!!!!!

The thing is with the Rangers players....Scottish and Overseas....they know they aren't 'world class'....but the things they have are....Heart, Determination, Guts, Pride,....need I go on?!?! confised

If we're honest I think we choose to call teams "British" teams only when it suits us.

But I am pleased for Rangers, mainly because their club is not founded on religious discrimination. And because it pisses Oirish Celtic supporters off when they win.

I have tickets for the final and I will be quietly hoping the Ruskis win it. I stopped wanting the Scottish teams to win years ago when I was old enough to realise that a lot of the Scottish fans supported Scotland and whoever England were playing. Anyway, in footballing terms Scotland is as foreign as Spain, Poland, Bulgaria, etc. so don't feel I need to have more of an allegiance to them.

ask any Rangers fan what nationality their team is................and the vast majority will say British and not Scottish. Look at the supporters in the crowd - union flags everywhere.

That's why I was over the moon with Barnsley's performances in the FA cup, but Rangers and Barnsley aren't the only teams with those attributes. Cup football seems to bring the best out of the so called underdogs.

Just mentioned Celtic as you have to justify any anti / not-pro Rangers comment up here with an immediate 'but I'm not Celtic' instantly before mass outrage ensues. And aye, bigots on both sides, but on this rock there are 20 Rangers bigots to one Celtic bigot so the total hun factor is through the roof. I was suprised with this thread - any success by PremierSh!t teams in Eurpoe is generally met with derision - Huns are no different. Huge club buying any Scottish player with talent from the lower clubs, getting 60,000+ crowds and the associated money, TV deals etc. No time for them or the bhoys - bigoted feckwits.

Some right sore heads here this morning tho :laugh:
