Labour are claiming it was a "great night" despite losing overall control. Are they right or do you think they have had a kick up the backside?

PS. The BNP nearly took Rift House!

Do you think that the BNP candidate came so close cos that particular ward has an abundance of people with a tendancy to have right-wing views?

You're calling niggers and Asian folk knobheads? Never thought I'd see the day.

I don't get why people associate xenophobia with right-wingedness.
From what I've seen it's just as rife among the "socialist" classes as any other.

It'll be a sad day when the BNP get a councillor elected in Hartlepool. I'd hope the townspeople would be more sensible than that but obviously not going by that result.

My old man informs me Arthur Preece has been re-elected as councillor on my home town ward of the Fens. Surely it's time for him to retire gracefully into old age? He can hardly walk!

Sounds like we need a derogatory nickname for Rift-Housees to remind them of their shame.

Now that Hartlepool has a hung Parliament ( no pun intended  ) does that mean all those pratts that have been calling each other worse than muck for the past few weeks will now want to jump in bed with each other. :uhoh: :uhoh: :uhoh:

Surely we want them to forget?

It was never like that when I lived there. People were kept far too busy trying not to fall over in the Catcote

Even if the party's policies were to be proved right, what the fook has UK independence got to do with local government?

Did he oust a labour councillor? If so I'll forgive him this time.

UK autocracy disappeared years ago. It would be almost impossible to turn back the clock whether we wanted to or not. I can't see any other in the next century, than a Centralised European Parliament, rightly or wrongly.

Sorry to disappoint Mr Head but UKIP won it from the LibDems.

Listening to him on the radio, he has difficulty talking as well.

Interestingly enough, no. So if they all club together they can keep defeating Labour and cause a crazy stink.

The UKIP gadgie, now if I had voted for him he would have only lost by 1 vote
