Don't know if it's been mentioned but he's quitting Stevenage to find a league club. He has a great record as far as I can remember and from being England U21 coach must have some excellent contacts in the game.
Certainly more exciting than another Wilson season.

Brian Clough apparently thought Taylor didn't have a clue about management. Leicester fans will probably agree. He seems to have had a lot of clubs, and doesn't seem very "sought after" what with going from being England U-21 coach and premiership manager, to also-ran at Stevenage.

Hmm I don't know who Clough was on about in his book but this Taylor did crap admittedly at Leceister but he didn't have much to spend, just like Derby now I suppose.
I only rembember what he did for Hull and Gillingham, looking at his career he also flopped at Palace and also managed Brighton but I don't remember how well he did there.
I actually forgot he was in charge of England as caretaker, I think before Keegan?
Anyway, all the above is irrelevant, he surely has to be better than Wilson?! I'd chose him over Clough jnr too, one has managed higher than non league the other hasn't.
First choice for me would be Penney still, but he might still get them clowns promoted.

Cloughie was a proper manager, the players played in fear of him and it worked... Nigel seems a bit wet for me like. Looks like he wouldn't say boo to a goose

did anyone watch the interview with the pair of them, even when Nigel had became manager of Burton? Brian just kept patronising and talking down to him, and Nigel just clammed up and did exactly as he was told!! Clough Senior had retired by then!!!!!

Nope, neither Nigel Clough nor Peter Taylor will do for me.

Clough Junior has been at Burton 10 years now and only just got them into a play-off position. I know Burton are only a tiny club, but so are we relatively speaking. We need an overachiever and I'm afraid he isn't one.

As for Peter Taylor he spent a LOT of money getting it wrong at Hull before finally taking them up.

But I'm sure that young Clough took over Burton before they were even in the Conference and got them promoted to there, consolidated ( ) there for a few years whilst still having part time players and has now got them into the playoffs punching above their weight with crowds of about 2k in front of teams like Halifax, York and Oxford who have much bigger budgets.

I think he's done a cracking job with them and would certainly entertain the idea of him managing HUFC.

they were interviewed together before our cup game with Burton. It was like watching the manager talking with his new youth team signing.
Neale Cooper did alright for us, why not get one of his kids to manage us?

And what's his managerial CV like?

Or are you just being silly?

Yes I know this is a pointless and completely unoriginal post, but I started so I had to finish.
