the funniest sending off you will ever see!!

Ian Sharps step forward, he did well to get that high and catch it. What the fook was he doing?

The officials where woefull mind the only they got right was the first sending off, and what was that linesman on second half?? How does the ref go from being about to send Bullock (red card actually in hand and about be produced) to booking the Rotherham player and giving Pools a free kick??! epsecially as play was stopped when Porter was in on goal.

Good performance though, Foley has to start on Friday. Phil Turnbull looked a good turn at right back and Ritchie bossed the midfield when he came on.

How frustrating is the fact we where relegated? We ARE better than the likes of Rotherham United even with (apart from Nelse and Clark) what was our reserve team starting line up in August.

Ian Sharps, "what comes around goes around".

He deserved a red when he played for Tranmere in the play-off 2nd leg for kicking the ball at one of our players heads. Now, now, it made my day when he got sent off.

Yeh Strachan was excellent, but all of them deserve praise.

We where saying before the match its happens quite often when you have a poor crowd in one of these mickey mouse trophy games you see a cracking match!!

We played some really, really good football this evening.

Marvellous display.

Couldn't disagree more.

I thought he was total pap, the amount of time he got the ball in promising positions and he passed it either backwards or sideways was unreal. I've never seen such a negative footballer. Bolland back in for sure on Saturday for me.

Daly was unlucky to be subbed, he played very well tonight - the one black spot not converting that header in the second half. Porter did ok afterwards, what a sub to bring on at that stage! Foley was energetic and enthusiastic with a fair amount of skill thrown in, and a cracker of a goal to cap it off. Strachan was the dominating player in the centre I thought - kept possession for the team well and moved it on. Sometimes the "seemingly nothing" pass and moves are the ones which slowly pull the opposition out of position - football needs to be constructed in such a manner rather than the quick punt up the field IMO. Robson was constantly being shouted at by Danny Wilson for being in the wrong place and not picking people up when they had the ball - he certainly can't be trusted at times ,and lost possession in crucial areas a few times which caused us real problems - whereas Humphreys was quality in that position when he came on. Brackstone played reasonably well I thought, as did P. Turnbull. Provett constantly talked to the back four - great communication from him, and just what the team has missed, he had a sound game in goal (although I'll need to see their goal again). Nelson and Clark performed to the high standards we have become accustomed to. Bullock was average at best again though, despite the goal he's not up to the mark is he? It was a good move by Wilson to take the pressure off Brown as a front man and put him wide right where he showed good skill, and again another youngster in Maidens did well as his replacement (and who should have had a penner for hand ball).
Normally I can't be arsed to write about the team because for so long it's been bollox, but tonight really cheered me up no end. Some justice has been meted out to the cheating Yorkshire t-wat-s, but I won't be happy until we've swapped places with them at the end of the season.

But seeing as he missed the vital penalty then we are happy he didnt get sent off at Tranmere.

Chris, that is just complete and utter bollocks mate. Strachan had the ball so many times in that game I thought he was going to take it home with him. Always available, always moving, always found his man. My Man Of The Match.

I don't argue the fact he always had the ball but for me he never did anything productive with it, he's the most negative player I have ever seen. Having said that you had a much better view so maybe he did more than I am giving him credit for.

Nothing, but Strachan was tremendous tonight. Are you being influenced by the people around you, who spent the entire game on Saturday slagging "Donkey Daly"??

My opinions are not influenced by anyone (and certainly not by one woman who knows fuck all!!!!). I just don't think Strachans performance was 'tremendous' and he did little to convince me we need him back in the team but he makes an able deputy incase of injuries.

Strange innit - we've now played three teams from higher divisions, two of the matches away and to teams TWO divisions higher, and in normal play it's W2 D1.
It all suggests to me that the same team would do just as well in the division above as it is doing in this cesspit. One win instead of a daft defeat last season - let's say againt Sarfend at home - and look where we might be now  :weep:

Chip, I'm not negating your praise of Strachan but I do believe this season Pools have had the majority of possession in nearly every game.

The "any team who dominates possession will normally go on to win the game" formula isn't working for us. Not that I'm saying we should give more possession away like!

Strachan gets the same treatmant that Steve Tupling got, if a player isn't tear arsing about like a lunatic and hacking lumps off people some of the terrace gobshites just get the urge to slag them off. What a pity they can't see there's a touch more to playing than the bleedin obvious....

I wasn't meaning to slag him off, I quite like Strachan and he has some great uses and have respect for the way he continually fights for his place back. I just hate his continued negativity and total lack of creativity.
