Good, reasoned reply and no abuse. Maybe Katcha can take a leaf out of your book.

Frank - at least you are man enough to put your real name on here.

You don't seem to care for any posts or posters (other than one) and quite simply seem reactive to a lot of things that are posted and seem to like to sit there and disagree with a lot of things and have issues with a lot of posters.

Maybe this is because you have issues in your personal life that you have difficulty dealing with or accepting - i neither know nor care -my suggestion to you was that if you ain't happy posting on the board and without wanting to cause offence then just fuck off and don't post anymore.

Personal abuse would be to call you a wanker or an arsehole, something along those lines. I do not know you personally and therefore should not level abuse of such a nature at you

i am not one of these moderators but i think by and large they do a good job and on the odd ocassion i have been considered to have gone over the top i have received a polite pm asking me to calm down.

at one point i was yellow carded, which essentially meant i couldnt post for a couple of days giving me time to calm down and reflect on things.

the way i see it the board is fun, it costs me nothing to join and i have made some good mates out of it.

somebody not only has to pay for its upkeep they also have to moderate it which also means checking every thread for stuff that is potentially libellous.

the mods on here do a bloody good job imho and it is unpaid thankless work.

if anyone dont like it they are free to go elsewhere .

You're dead right. It's a great place. You don't have to come here if you don't want to. There's one or two claiming to be Devil's Advocates i.e. expressing views they don't believe to wind the gullible up but you get tossers everywhere. On the whole it's an enjoyable read for anyone attached to Hartlepool either to the town or to Pools. Thanks to MrI who I gather does a lot of the admin and everyone else who set the Pooly Bunker up.

It's either me age or the beer thats making me so mellow

Now don't go picking on Dibble when he's not around to defend himself.

I wasn't happy with a post being deleted, otherwise I am happy posting on this board. I don't have any issues in my personal life. I am happy, balanced and content. I like lots of posters on here and have very few issues with anyone, except people like you who, with your attitude, put off new people from joining and add extra weight to the theory that this is a clique. If you don't like what I post, don't read it. I don't read your boring shite. Word of advice - keep taking the Prozac. Rarf.

What's that sledging story about the slip fielder enquiring whether the batsman is a bit overweight.

And the batsman replies,

"It's your wife's fault, everytime I shag her she gives me a doughnut".

I hope the fielder was an Autralian and the Batsman was a West Indian

Right on the fielder, it was Glenn McGrath, the batsman was Eddo Brandes from Zimbabwe.
That and other funny examples are here

Classic Cricket Sledges

1. Rod Marsh & Ian Botham:

When Botham took guard in an Ashes match, Marsh welcomed him to

the wicket with the immortal words: "So how's your wife & my kids?"

2. Daryll Cullinan & Shane Warne:

As Cullinan was on his way to the wicket, Warne told him he had been waiting 2 years for another chance to humiliate him. "Looks like you spent it eating," Cullinan retorted.

3. Glenn McGrath & Eddo Brandes:

After Brandes played & missed at a McGrath delivery, the Aussie bowler politely enquired: "Oi, Brandes, why are you so fat?" "Cos every time I f**k your wife she gives me a biscuit," Brandes replied.

4. Robin Smith & Merv Hughes:

During 1989 Lords Test Hughes said to Smith after he played & missed:

You can't f**king bat". Smith to Hughes after he smacked him to

the boundary: "Hey Merv, we make a fine pair. I can't f**king bat & you can't f**king bowl."

5. Merv Hughes & Javed Miandad:

During 1991 Adelaide Test, Javed called Merv a fat bus conductor.

A few balls latter Merv dismissed Javed: "Tickets please", Merv called out as he ran past the departing batsman.

6. Merv Hughes & Viv Richards:

During a test match in the West Indies, Hughes didn't say a word

to Viv, but continued to stare at him after deliveries. "This is my

island, my culture. Don't you be staring at me. In my culture we

just bowl." Merv didn't reply, but after he dismissed him he announced

to the batsman: "In my culture we just say f**k *ff."

7. Ricky Ponting & Shaun Pollock:

After going past the outside edge with a couple of deliveries, Pollock told Ponting: "It's red, round & weighs about 5 ounces."

Unfortunately for Pollock, the next ball was hammered out of the ground.

Ponting to Pollock: "you know what it looks like, now go find it."

8. And of course you can't forget Ian Healy's legendary comment which was picked up by the television microphones when Arjuna Ranatunga called for a runner on a particularly hot night during a one dayer in Sydney... "You don't get a runner for being an overweight, unfit, fat c**t!!!"

It was Glenn McGrath bowling to Zimbabwean Eddo Brandes (the chicken farmer who took a hat-trick against us).

Right, when you get to bat for the Bunker CC, get yourself to 49, and hit a six.

Tell you what. You get your cricket medals and honours out and lay them on the table and I'll get mine out and we'll compare and contrast and decide who has achieved the most in cricket and who has the greater knowledge and understanding of the game.

Love from Dick xxx.
