Just heard him on the radio. He said: "We can't complain about the state of their pitch. Have you seen how bad ours is?" I think he's a decent bloke and if Darlow stick with him, as we stuck with Turner, they will get promoted one day.

Well, If we get promoted either automatic or through the play off's then we'll deserve our moment. If we fail, then so be it.

Life is easy, it's promotion that's difficult.

No disrespect intended to proper Darlo fans like Sarf, but I'm crying with laughter at their pain.

It's a weaker league this season. You just need momentum.

I'd love to feel sorry for Darlo but given they told us we bottled it when we didn't blow it quite like they are now, I can't say I feel bad for them.

And it's quite a monumental fall, given the lead they had above the playoff spots... 1pt behind and 2 more games played rolfl

I've just read the Loid rivals board for the first time in ages, not very happy are they!?

Even some 'Penney out' threads rolfl

Apparently they only took 150 fans to Stockport yesterday, 3rd top with 5 games left after not being promoted since 1991 and they take 150  Unbelievably piss poor 'support' they don't deserve promotion. Compare and contrast that with our following at Edgely Park last season when they had to close the turnstiles due the away end being full.......

post from a stockport fan in this thread:

http://darlington.rivals.net/forum/pgeP ... &clubId=30

"You deserve nothing this season, frankly! We were average today yet we still completely bossed you for 90 minutes.
Also big moan of the match! where on earth was your away support? 150 for a big top of the table clash? you should be thoroughly ashamed of yourselves.
derisory away numbers. Terrible! but at least it proves you've over acheived this season and you will win nothing."

oh my...

sussies reckons it was 320 - frankly i'm amazed he admitted to even taking that.

Is it because stockports ground is too far out of town for them?

320 is still an absolutely comical turnout for such an important fixture. If we'd have been at Stockport yesterday and we had nothing to play for we'd have taken 500+ without any shadow of a doubt we took that to Crewe the other week which is further, that given we had nothing to play for and our our form is poor.

Why are they not getting behind them sctatchinghead

A question that has been asked, yet not answered all season. The Majority of the town are complete and utter tossers and a vast section of those that do go are just as bad.

Maybe the club should just fold and do the morons of the town a favour

I remember the last game of the season last year when Darlo were thoroughly thrashed by Stockport at home. Happy times!

And Rivals looks shit now, when did they change it? Seeing all kinds of names I haven't seen in ages... TinShedDarloFan, InBreedon and DOTU... jeez, I'm glad I packed that shit in

I have to say it's a far cry from the sell-out attendance (and indeed more than the capacity of that stand) which Pools supporters filled last season. I've no doubt that if we'd only had a few hundred there instead, the team would not have been so inspired to come back from 3 goals down.

Just said something similar to the loid at work this morning.

He was one of the few that was there but like I said to him if they'd taken a decent support maybe they'd have got something from the game.

I went through theirs and their rivals fixtures a few weeks ago with him and told him 8th had their name written all over it. He laughed but now he is starting to think it could be so if they lose against Hereford and Chesterfield in their next 2 games.

Personally I would cry laughing if it happened.

If it is a possibility come the last day of the season I'm seriously considering going to Peterborough if anyone else fancies it seeing as though Pools have got nowt riding on the last game this season!

I think they'll end up 7th. I'm looking forward to them losing to Rochdale in the season that sees Dale get out of that league for the first time since before a lot of Bunker users were born. Surely their fans deserve it after all these years.

They've probably got just enough points on the board to avoid missing out on the playoffs altogether, but it would still be funny as fk if it did happen.

My brother wished the same thing - if Rochdale are promoted, that means Darlo are the longest-serving basement club. I'd like that. It'd quite an accolade to have clappp

They won't miss the playoffs. Chesterfield are a little too far back even if they beat Darlo. I know there are only a few games left, and Chesterfield could do what we did in 2002 and win their remaining games, but I doubt it. And Darlo would still not need many points to guarantee finishing higher, even if Dale, Wycombe and Stockport all catch them.

Dale for the playoffs!

Have you seen darlow's last 4 games?

It wouldn't be the biggest shock of the season for them to lose against Hereford and Chesterfield, and if they did the pressure would be right on for their penultimate game which is at home to Dagenham.

And then their last match is away at Peterborough.

If they pick up only a point from their last 4 they could miss out if Cheaterfield do a good run.

On the same score where the loids to beat Hereford on Saturday then they're right back in the hunt for 3rd place again.

COME ON HEREFORD!!!

I won't be joining you ripper in Peterborough. But you have reminded me of what is probably my favourite non Pools match. I went along with a Mackem supporting mate to watch Darlo being relegated to the Conference. I remember it as a either/or situation, with Darlo or the opponents on the day Colchester looking at the drop, and a win fro Colchester sent the Loids down. But looking at ITMC, they went down with 42 points, and Colchester finished 3rd bottom with 50, Doncaster being between them on 49, so my memory must be slightly out. But it was still a great day. rolfl rolfl rolfl
