Philson Run at about 25-1 looks worth a few quid, just been reading about it! Raced well last year, been lightly ran this year and loves the distance!

How do you know a horse loves distance?

Horses love apples, sugar lumps and polos, and grass, and having a poo all over.

I'll go for Slim Pickings with LAmi as my outsider.
We were at Wycombe on National day last year. I got a double up. £4 ew on Silver Birch and Pools got promoted.
A first leg repeat would be nice. Our lass has taken a leg off the favourite Cloudy Lane....she drew it in their sweep :!: :!: :!:

Is that the scattergun approach?

More or less

We always choose 3 horses each and I recognised some of the jockeys and trainers names so I went for them :uhoh:

Right, we've all been round to put bets on. There are loads of rules around this year aren't there ? Is that usual or has it developed along with other modern manuals like health and safety/political correctness etc?
Don't back a horse that's under 11 stone, under 10 years old, is French, isn't Irish, wears head-gear (head-gear?), has never run more than 2 miles........There were only two horses left after all that so I took them both. The bairn chose Simon. She hasn't paid for her bet but has promised to do so if it wins

Ive ended up having a bet and i didnt even plan leaving the house today, my prospective father in law phoned and said will you put me a bet on a horse called something Barrow or Sparrow as he had drawn it twice in a sweepstake at work. Anyhow ive backed Bewleys berry (north east trainer howard johnsons), Mon Mome (reminded me of the french public schoolboy) and Vodka Bleu (reminded me of getting our lass drunk), all each way.

Fensy, don't be difficult. You know that I meant 'the four horses for which you'd have a payout if you'd backed them each way'

Mrs R and I picked a nag each see as though it was the National and had a little flutter.

She went for Slim Pickings, I had to go for King John's Castle (cheers Mr Mutley).

£5e/w on each of them, will try and remember to pick the winnings up one day this week. :sweeeet:
