When you use the term 'self expanatory' (sic) are you suggesting you haven't a brain?
You shouldn't criticise yourself like that..........poor dear. therethere

one suspects they have gone and got a room.

possibly in a 3some with a well known darlo fan that mr oo is very smitten, nay obsessed, with. bbolt

Ah, get away man. All you've done tonight (apart from a decent game review) is insult people  any chance you can allow people to have their own opinion? confised

WHAT?... this is a message board, not the opening 20 minutes of Saving Private Ryan.

This 'Bunker elite' stuff is risible. It crops up about every six months.

We opened a board, we opened it to everyone, if someone gets above themselves they get a mild slap because we don't like personal abuse or too much obscenity, and that's it. The rules are there's no rules, respect your peers. Self generating debate is the order of the day.

Strange bloody sort of elitism......

However if it pleases to be deluded and paranoid, well that's OK too.

to be fair kev, chip's standard answer to anything he doesn't like is "welcome to the board back to rivals". like you say the whole point about a messageboard is that people can post pretty much what they like. there's loads of threads i'm not interested in, so i don't post on them. chip, likeable old cove that he is, does appear to be a self-appointed bunker guardian. its not needed, nor desired. the fact that the same other longstanding bunker members spring to his defence time and time again does nothing to dispel the "bunker elite/clique". live and let live.

except for sussex, who is a prize crank, and is now replicating his 'comedy' act on here. just get shot of him asap blastt

It's not just that there are some threads you're not interested in, tho, Aido. You'd expect that.
It's more that, lately especially, there are posters who come on expressly to say things that they know other people aren't interested in, because they think it's funny to bore people, or to draw other people into stupid arguments.

The Bunker has always had its questionable elements (me for instance :uhoh: ), but it used to be inhabited by posters who were genuinely funny and made an effort to entertain, even if sometimes tempers boiled over a bit. If that's elitism then I'm afraid I'm all for it.

(sorry, I now see Chip has said some of this already but i'll post it anyway. )

i agree, wank like this thread is what scattered me from rivals (apart from the informative match reviews clappp, did i mention i do them ), but it is a free board. if you have a real problem, then take a vote amongst longer-serving members and get the culprits banned.

That is a very good idea. It's true that they would all migrate to other message boards and complain all the more about bunker elites, but at least then it would be easier to avoid reading them

Actually, I wasn't talking about you, Sussex, which just goes to show how difficult and subjective voting-off-on-grounds-of- boredom is going to be

There are some far worse candidates

That happens in every thread though, from every poster. Each thread usually splits into two or three separate conversations after the first five posts, out of ignoring certain posters or not caring for what they say. We all do it.

No, this is different. Some people who've joined recently are hell-bent on disrupting the board, not for laughs and not just because the conversation has led to different ways. And at least one of them announced his intention to disrupt, on Rivals at Christmas.
Just life, I suppose. I think I'll continue my bunker membership by pm only, to interesting and funny members :sweeeet:

I am a newcomer and this is my view. As I see it this is a site to exchange views on about any subject anyone wants to mention not forgetting Pools. That being the case there are bound to be differences of opinion but I fail to see the need to abuse people or question their credibility. When this happens especially to a newcomer you are bound to get one of two reactions. The newcomer will either stop participating or will retaliate. Most of the newcomers I have spoken to say they never felt welcome and that some people just gang up on them just for the sake of it. This is what comes across and that is probably why the word clique rears it's ugly head from time to time. I would like to think the attitude described is not intentional but in some cases it is obvious that it is. You have no right to expect respect unless you show it. Some people like to criticise but can't accept criticism. Just because you disagree with another poster's view , no matter who they are , that does not give you the right to question either their credibility or their right to post on here. The day some people wake up and accept this , that will be the day this problem will go away.

But I agree with Snowy. The point (or one of the points  ) is that you keep posting on a message board because you find at least a few kindred spirits or a few people who share your sense of humour. It's not the end of the world if this doesn't happen, and it's no-one's fault. You move on.

Loads of people on the Bunker ignore me or worse. I don't therefore mount a campaign to 'punish' them

That is great. I see it all now, It was a joke when you suggested I didn't have a brain. And it was a joke when grabec suggested my wife was Superwatty. And it was a joke when she subsequently said Mr Ripper was Nelsonshead ( my wife). And it was a joke when mutley called her Superwatty. And it was a joke when Mr I also was convinced she was Superwatty. And it was a joke when OO was also accused of being Superwatty. I'll have to get into this joking culture. Silly me, it is all one big joke. Let's see if I can think of one. Snowy you are a bigoted self opinionated twatt , and so are you grabec. Only joking of course.
