If you agree to a testimonial game for Eiffion so that we can all show our appreciation to a true Poolie legend , please add your agreement to this thread and then we can take it up with the club.

What happens if you disagree, he only played six years, a good pro, nice fella, etc etc so and so forth

Let's move on, eh, no-one knew Ian Moore would throw the rattle out and until he did, no-one had any desire to bring the Welsh Wizard back to the Vic, did they.....?

If only Danny Wilson had our ability to see into the future, eh!

You get a testimonial for ten years service. He was only at Pools for five.

He was a good player and scored some cracking goals, but lets not get carried away.

Did you want me to agree?, It's a fair point, but a no go, like Jonnykins said, why not have one for Ingram, McGukin, Lee and others who stayed for the same time...?

No ten year service only.

I just didn't consider the ten year bit. Very silly of me. I apologise for wasting anybody's time.

Ridiculous idea im afraid. Where would you draw the line if we bring the testimonial period below ten years. In this day and age where hardly any loyalty exists we would end up giving people a testimonial after a full season!

The ridiculousness (is that a word?) of the original post.

But he hasn't been at Pools for ten years , so your suggestion is as ridiculous as mine. I'm surprised nobody else has pointed that out.
We should form a ridiculous suggestion club.
It would really be funny if the club actually gave him a testimonial. Some of the know alls on here would then be saying it was their idea.

I wouldn't go as far as a testimonial for Eifion, but why not offer him another trial in pre season.

maybe if he has the rest of this season as a break he might realise what he had, and might make him hungry next time round.

Come on pools its not the worst thing you could do after the appauling treatment he was given last season. Lets have some balls about you admit you were wrong and offer the guy who scored the greatest goal i've witnessed as a pools supporter (mostly down to the opposition being Darlo)a trial in pre season.

Everyone would probably agree he would be better back up than Foley and would make a great start to strengthening the squad, especially if the rumours Joel is leaving are true!!!

'A Game' was what I was alluding to really. Using the word testimonial was wrong and I have acknowledged that. On the point of the likes of Graeme Lee , he went on to supposedly to better things. Just because we have never done anything like this in the past doesn't preclude us from doing it now. Giving him a bit of a role in a pre season friendly would give those who are interested the chance to thank him.
Now form a disciplined line lads. Don't all shout at once.

People will get a chance to thank Eifion when he appears for the Pools Legends in the masters in a couple of years. Plus if he is living in the town I'm sure he will be an invited guest at Pools on plenty of occassions, and he will get a great reception.....

To suggest we should sign him when he can't get a game for Wrexham is ludicrous, and I don't see how he was badly treated.....

Although Eifion Williams struggled at Wrexham he is still probably a better player than Sweeney. AS is rubbish at most things but he does sometimes try.....

So a player who is a crock and struggled to get a game for Wrexham is STILL a better player than Sweeney. That's a damning indictment of the likes of Wilson , Penney , O'Driscoll and McCall , all of whom rate Sweeney. Which club did you say you managed? sctatchinghead

from that comment Jonny i think Sweens must be working on you.

I know you probably wont agree but since sweeney has been in the side have you noticed something??/

We are actually WINNING the odd game. ok AS first touch isnt the greatest, but his work ethic and distribution (once he gets control of the ball) is not bad.

Then again with your idol as your picture, sctatchinghead sctatchinghead stpid stpid

Sweeney has been excellent for Pools these last few weeks both at right back and on the right hand side of midfield.

He was also in the team for the majority of last season's unbeaten run.

How anybody can slate him is silly, unless they are judging him against their premiershite idols who they worship on the tellybox.

He has done ok, I certainly prefer it when he plays on the right rather than in the centre......
