Been on a scouting mission this morning to grayfields to check on the astro turf playing surface.
Did a 30 minute run around the pitch followed by 30 minutes of shuttles star jumps and press ups finishing off with some long range passing and shots.
I will cope well but the older fat lads might struggle. rolfl

You reckon?

If he'd seen us last Monday he'd have fell over laughing, we were that poor.

I'm not expecting to win after hearing who will be playing for you lads.

I think your 'spy' is pulling your pisher, chip rolfl

If we can keep the score down to a reasonable tally, i'll be happy. We will only have 9 players if were lucky, whereas you'll have 12/13. Your lads are training twice a week as well and ours have half an hour on a Monday and two days on the drink at weekends. I'll be very surprised if we win.

rolfl Quality chip

My message for not attending before was purely tongue in cheek, i never make love, thats for sissies!

I've been moving house and i pretty much moved into a building which was a bomb site, there is work going on with the electrics and the bathroom and scaffolding on the front, so i've not had anytime to really get any rooms sorted, so i've been deviding my time between work, the youngun and getting this house sorted.

Apologies, i shall be here next week and throw my hat into the ring for this big big game.

Barker? Cheeky get. I'm more of a Brownesque player I'd say. I also always bag a lot of goals, so you can't say you haven't got someone who can put the ball in the back of the net.

as for training twice a week, dont make me laugh. there was two of us turned up last tuesday night, the manager and the goalie.

on the wednesday night 9 of my team turned up.

two of them went off injured within half an hour and as for the rest of them ????? all they want to do is play long balls and take a drinks break every five minutes.

we will struggle big time with fitness, and we havent got anyone that can put the ball in the net regularly.

im so worried i may even be talked into coming out of retirement and playing the last 20 minutes myself.

im just hoping our lads can keep the scoreline respectable. sadx
Its a good job i turn up then Chip. rolfl

Not that I'm aware of.

Any volunteers?

Mr Frank Reid?

Anybody?

I actually thought I was crap last night but I won't turn down your comments, so thanks! It was the first time I have played on astro in donkeys and takes some getting used to but if those lads play there every week then I'll certainly be up for it in the future.

re: Tuesday team. I think Kolley would be better suited in midfield (I don't know how he feels about this!) as I think we need him involved as much as possible. I also think you should be playing Chip and I can't see anyone disagreeing with that.

I concur with TPP about Mr Fireball making a playing appearance next week too.

I'll be there again tonight and should be ok for next Tuesday old legs and injuries permitting!

I might even buy a new pair of footie trainers today so that I can run them in tonight and Monday in preparation for our big game.

In addition to the two games a week thing, me and ripper take part in monday night football, so if we played on a tuesday that would be three nights in a row. Granted it was a bank holiday this week so we didn't play. I also play at work, sometimes twice a week. What are the number like on a tuesday night, don't want to be stepping on any regulars toes.

Anyway, I'll be there tonight, and next Tuesday and next Wednesday. Not the week after though as I'm on holiday.

It's funny, the older I get the more I play, I'm not getting any fitter or better either!!

ps. Ripper, I've invested in some new boots, they get their first run out tonight.

Good effort!

Mine aren't really knackered but my shooting is getting gradually worse in them so I'm going for a new pair in the hope that they are a proper pair of shooting boots!!

The blisters are still there!

very disappointed that only 2 lads bothered to attend the warm up on astro tonight.

we seem to have a lot of lads that think this game will be a stroll in the park and that they dont need to worry about their fitness levels. given that i see lads walking off the 5 a side pitch after 10 minutes on a wednesday night for a drink and a rest, i think they may get a shock on a big pitch against a team that play in a league every week.

at present i have got mr groovy times in goal, mr tax in midfield and mr kolley kibber up front.

the other 5 spots are very much up for grabs. much will depend on performances tomorrow night.
Should make them bring a note off there mam's Chip.

It has come to my attention that one ex prominant bunkerite has been scoring for fun lately and fully expects to get the strikers role.

What's Groovy done to upset you then Chip, comparing him to Butterfingers Budtz???

Put me down as 50-50 Gaffer, my groin felt tight last night and has stiffened up like buggery this morning.

I'll get plenty of hot baths and stuff and let you know how it goes over the next few days.

It has come to my attention that one ex prominant bunkerite has been scoring for fun lately and fully expects to get the strikers role.

"barker" turned up late but then proceeded to score 6 goals in the first 6 minutes past jan budz, who is now under threat from lee barrett who was in goal at the other end.

He then proceeded to stop nearly everything else I threw at him. There was some real 'how did he stop that?' moments last night from both keepers.

The Gaffer has done a sterling job in encouraging players and keeping the Bunker squad as one.

I refuse to be drawn into any petty mind games with a member of the opposition squad.

We shall do our talking on the pitch.

That will be all

Everything is Antwi's fault - not Humphreys or Nelson but Antwi. Even when he's not playing.

It's good to see chip leading from the front. That's how it should be!. As for Si and Adam, they have trained with us for the last two weeks and will be subs for our league game on Monday and subs for Tuesdays match. If chip or anyone has any objection to them being subs on Tuesday, i'll leave them out. Can't say fairer than that. Every other player present on Tuesday has played for us in the league this season.

Also, regarding a ref, i can see one of the official refs from the Monday night league to ref Tuesdays game if everyone agrees? They will probably charge around 20 quid for their services so between the two sides it'll be no more than a pound a man
