Hartlepool boss Danny Wilson has pinpointed a new-found belief as the reason for their recent excellent form.
Pools have won their last three matches going into Saturday's visit to Tranmere and Wilson believes confidence has spread throughout the squad.

"There's a bit of light now at the end of the tunnel," he told BBC Tees.

"The three wins have given us belief we can creep up the table. With nine games left to play who knows what could happen in this division."

The former Barnsley manager faces a selection headache with striker Richie Barker set to return.

However, Wilson is happy to have competition within the squad and welcomes the challenge.

"That is the scenario you want at any football club," he said.

"You don't want people happy not to play, you want people chomping at the bit to play."


I think his headache is a bit early, don't think Barker is ready yet.
However when it does come, I can't see him losing much sleep
