On the news last night they were banging on about there being a worldwide food shortage due to an increased demand by developing nations.

So why are they still sending bags of grain to the darkies in Africa if we're short of it ourselves? sctatchinghead

Food shortage.dont think so.

Farms around Europe are paid not to grow crops!
75% of the EU budget is spent on paying them to do nothing- or very little- with their land. Not much chance of us starving.

Too right. I work next to the Quorn fermentation plant at Billingham, and in fact I used to work on the Quorn pilot plant when we were all ICI, in the good old days.............. violin
