Turner mentions Continuity as the reason behind Humphries getting another contract. No doubt it was the same with Barron.

He is obviously trying to instill some Liverpool and Man U values at the club. The only difference is those clubs won things so continuity was basic common sense.

Humphries and Barron however have won nothing and in fact are associated with losing ( play off losses, blowing titles etc).

They have been good servants to the club but there can be no room for sympathy in football, especially if we want the success we have never had.

Their contracts should never have been renewed.

They both won promotion twice.

And I'd still rather see Micky Barron playing right back now than anyone else at the club. Can anyone say it wouldn't make our defence better having him in the team?

Barron packed up far too early for me too but think he is probably past it now. Once you decide in your head thats it then that is usually it.

They did win promotion twice, but do we not want more? a season or two in the championship , a title , a wembley appearance , 5th or 6th round of the cup.

If its good enough for Mk Dons , Scunthorpe and Bristol Rovers then surely its good enough for us.

The team in the final of the JP Trophy, who we may be swapping places with at end of the season

Still in the 4th divison though, OK its fairly nailed on that they will go up, but what happens if they don't, and we stay up

They have won a tin pot trophy but spend another year in Darlows favourite league

How many people think Hartlepool United have the potential to be a Championship club? Bearing in mind our average attendance etc.

I dont....i reckon this is our level..sorry.

Personally I would rather be in the final of the Poundstretcher Syphilis Catching Competition than the 'JPT.' (sic).

I know, I know, it's played at Wembley, gets on telly, makes some small cash, but it's still a crumb for the minnows from the big Premiership table condescending bastards. I prefer not to dignify it.

Grimsby v MK Dons at Wembley, who takes that seriously?? Do we?? Not me.

My immediate thought was that by 'continuity' he was thinking long term, ie he wants them to be around ultimately for coaching, and quite right too

Yeah I agree that we will never make the final of the paint pot trophy because we have 'half wit' supporters like Daniel sctatchinghead

It was his fault Morcambe beat us on penalties stpid sctatchinghead

The lads were put off by half wits.

Grimsby and MK Dons are clubs free of half wits stpid

Do you realise how fooking ridiculous that statement you have made is when I put it like that, or are you just going to start to insult me now as well?

No Mr Onaldo, you are not reading correctly.

I do not rate the Paint Pot Trophy, I have never rated it in any other form, the LDV Vans, whatever. It's a pissy little competition fought for scraps from the big wallet of the FA.

How can I make you understand?? stpid stpid

And if supporters like you (if u are one) got your way then we'd probably go bust.
