A comfortable mid-table (so that we can blood some of the kids)
would be more than we would have dared hope for, a week or so ago.

The next couple of games will have a big impact.

The higher we finish the more money we get from the football league.

So even if in the last 4-5 games we are comfortable and have nothing to play for, we should still play our best XI and try and get as high up the table as possible.

I think we might go on a good run now, as long as wilson keeps picking our best players my prediction-11th place!

I got us in 17th in 54 points, 4 above relegated Cheltenham. Gillingham and Yeovil just surviving, as well as Crewe and Millwall. As you can tell, I've been very generous to those clubs regarding their results, and not so generous to Pools, but we 'll still survive if it pans out like that. In reality, the teams under threat would more than likely do the opposite of pulling out a good result in a crunch match, and wilt under the pressure.
That will be the difference. Hopefully we'll be well out of it by the middle of April.
Not losing to Gillingham is so crucial this Saturday, words can't describe it. We simply have to avoid defeat against them this Saturday, as we have another home game coming up against erratic Huddersfield, and Gills play away at Doncaster, where they will lose anyway.If we lose on Sat, we are plunged right back into it and the other strugglers who have to come here will see us as the team to put every effort into beating. We cannot allow that to happen. The team needs to be ready for this match on Saturday, as Gillingham will have targetted this match as the one away win they will go all out to get.

There's no evidence to suggest we'll go on any kind of run, good or bad, is there. We'd have to go on a really bad one for all four detached clubs to catch us now (i.e., Millwall, Chelt, Gill, Crewe).

Hopefully those three games before Oldham were our bad run. We haven't had any other bad runs, just indifferent ones, and indifferent looks to be good enough the way things stand. Roll on next season.
