Before Wilson arrived, I had hoped we'd lure Paul Ince. Doubt he'd be up for it but I'd still like to see it now.

Did Jurgen Klinsmann get fixed up with a job yet?

I'd take Paul Simpson or Mad Dog Allen tomorrow. i know Allen is a tit but I don't think he would take us down where as now it feels like a distinct possibility....

I can see Wilson being with us until the end of the season, Unless we actually drop into the bottom 4, Thats wether we like it or not confised

Manager wise I'd agree with Paul Simpson or Carlisle's boss that was sacked at the beginning of the season Neil Mcdonald was it?

Would anyone be saying Nigel Clough if he had a different surname?
I cant believe he keeps getting mentioned for our club every time the managers position comes up.
Exactly how successful has he been? Every time I have looked over the last few seasons his club have been midtable to just below midtable. I havent looked this season mind so maybe they're flying? His name's Clough. It doesnt make him any better than anyone else and it doesnt make him worth plumping for above any other manager with a better record but inferior surname.
Mediocre.
As for Shearer, not worth discussing; he would laugh it off if he could be bothered to find the energy which he probably couldnt.
Watson? Brian Robson isnt successful, Roy Keane has still got much to do. Why people think successful leaders on the pitch make great managers confuses me. Why do people think Shearer will be great? Watson is in the same bracket. I want a manager, not an ex great player.
I'd go for Simpson or possibly Allen. Turner til the end of the season better than what we have

Good manager my backside. Unfairly slated??? You are having a laugh. IMHO the bloke is one of the worst managers that the club have ever had. The resources are there yet he has still bolloxed it up.

"The resources are there" stpid

Grave, I'm not buying that. I agree that the resources available to DW have been excellent compared to many/most League TWO clubs which is partly why, far from bolloxing it up, he got us promoted in considerable style. But do you really think he had has a wealth of resources compared to a lot of League One clubs? confised

Edit: I (now :uhoh: ) realise this is an old post, but that was still a load of bollocky bollocks! :uhoh:

Of course MJ, some very good points there like. Not every manager is going to do well at Pools but why can't people get a grip of the fact that Wilson WASN'T doing well? What was really that difficult to take in that we were playing some of the worst football at Pools since the 90's?

The way the media and some fans are reacting, you'd think we'd just sacked Alex Ferguson.

Perspective works both ways.

When you look at Pools record under Wilson's outside of Div 4 it ain't great. An average of one win in three, an average of 1.21 points per game which is bottom ten stuff. An average of 1.5 per game conceded an 1.4 scored. Away from home the picture is truly dire.
